Sony mobile screen repair

I have an xperia phone that's not quite 2 years old, in contract with vodafone. I didn't take out any insurance for this phone.
I've got spreading green pixels down one side [about 6cm long and tanging from 1mm to 6mm wide] and in a few spots on the other and I'd rather get it repaired than a new one.
I haven't contacted Vodafone yet [ can't currently get to the local shop] and can't find any similar pictures of this on the internet I could point someone in a phone conversation to.

If I wanted to get this repaired with a new screen, where would be the best place to try? I have googled for likely places but they seem to be post to London variety, or there appears to be a repair service by Timpsons.
I did find a very good video how-to but am not up for that challenge unless there's no alternative

Have you tried your local market? Ours has a few guys who claim to be able to replace mobile phone screens.
