Mis-sold?

Hi,
About 6 months ago my husband bought a new truck from a main dealer. When discussing requirements with the salesman he said that it would be used to store tools in the back and occasional materials (carpenter). The salesman said that the roller shutters sometimes leak a little but it would be fine. 6 months down the line, water pours in and rivers flow through the back. He took it to the expert who fitted the shutter who said that they will always let lots of water in and he should have been told this. Obviously the truck is not fit for purpose and we need to get something else for my husband for work. Do we have any grounds to go back to the dealer?
Thanks

Was the shutter fitted by a third party?

The requirement for goods to fit for purpose still does though.

The manufacturer of the truck or the shutter?

Just who did fit the shutter?

First you state it was fitted by some expert then by the manufacturer.
  • The manufacturer had it fitted before we bought it but they told my husband his details so he went to speak to him directly.

So the vehicle did not come off the production line with a shutter so therefore it was not fitted by the makers/manufactures of the truck, it was a modification fitted by an independent shutter company.
  • True but fitter by the manufacturer
