What Rights for 12 Hours Long Transit ?

how does that compare to purchasing a hotel, meal independently? You don't have to take their deal, you could book your own.
What were your original plans when choosing a 12 hour stopover?
As has been said there is no right to a free hotel although some airlines (not Gulf Air) offer a complimentary room to certain passengers.
This is wrong. Gulf Air do offer free accommodation to "certain passengers", as you put it.

Why post such a thing if you have no idea?? Fake news!! :rotfl:0 -
Couple of factors...
As far I heard from my friends & colleagues, they had free STPC (Stop over paid by carrier) from Emirates, Oman airlines...So, I thought Gulf Air will do same.
I also thought if they don't provide I will stay at airport lounge or hotel. But, later found Bahrain International Airport is a very small airport, they don't have hotel inside airport, they have lounge but they are very expensive £220 for 3 hours. So, I am in very odd situation.
Gulf air provide STPC for free only for Business & First Class passengers. And, for economy customers they charge $55 for the service, which is to be honest cheap after I checked hotel, meals, transports, visa fee altogether.
It was my bad, I should check more details about the gulf air as I never fly with them before and Bahrain Airport before confirmed the tickets.
Anyway, there are few months left before we fly, so I will try again with them...otherwise, have to pay $130 for 2 Adult & 2 Children....
Thank you very much for all your replies..
Nope....they do provide it free for certain classes in Economy; https://www.gulfair.com/at-the-airport/transit-in-bahrain
Emirates similar;Minimum Fare Paid
Eligibility to ‘Dubai Connect’ will be determined against a minimum fare type paid for your Emirates flight. This is indicated during the booking process.0 -
Everywhere,
Thanks for your reply.
Yea, but how to find different classes in Economy ? I don't know what class... As far I know my one economy class. Airlines, make so many ticket types....make us complicated to understand their fare types, cancelation policy, conditions etc...like Energy Providers....lol..0 -

I have corrected my post...when searching on Gulf Air transit hotel I only found reference to the $55 offer but now see that the expensive economy fares receive free as well as business+
$55 seems like good deal0 -

Indeed a minefield for the uninitiated. I guess you need to ask the Travel Agent before booking. Otherwise you will only know once the tickets are issued.
I haven't even checked the class of my upcoming ticket, though that is because I have short stopovers, so not that important.0 -
