Completion - what could go wrong?

We are due to complete on monday. All funds are paid over, we had a text from our lender confirming their funds would be available today. Aside from a banking crash preventing funds being transferred is there anything else that could go wrong at this stage?

We are ftb. In rented and have the rental property for another 7 weeks, so we haven't actually packed yet and have somewhere to live if there is some issue on monday.

It’s legally awkward if the vendor dies between now and Monday!

It is very, very rare for problems to occur between exchange and completion. Don’t spend the weekend worrying.

Yeah, loads. Do you want a list? I mean, none of them's at all likely, or would be worthwhile fretting about over the weekend, but things could go wrong.

Other posts suggest they have exchanged.

Your lender could go bankrupt, it could burn to the ground, be hit by a lorry carrying nuclear waste, get overrun by a tidal wave... How inventive do you want us to get?

You have been insuring the property since exchange, yes?

prize for the most inventive? :o

I think I was thinking more along the money side of things than the place burning to the ground (that hadn't crossed my mind!)

I agree there is no point fretting and nothing I can do, just after waiting so long I don't want to have major disappointment on Monday!

Oh, it's yours now... definitely. No doubt!

Oh, about the neighbours... you know he's back from chokey this week end.... and the old graveyard under the cellar should be fine, so long as you follow the rituals. The flooding isn't that bad, and we have left the canoe.... and the radioactive garden does give a nice glow during the winter, and keeps all twelve fingers warm as well....

    But it's certainly yours now!

Welcome to the joys of ownership.!

It's even more legally awkward when only one vendor dies, and the other buries him under the patio!
