Future Flight Changed: Can I Claim?

Hi
I don't think I'll get anywhere with this but I'll ask the question if only to help others in a similiar situation:
Easyjet have contacted me to say my flight from Bristol to Italy scheduled for May this year has been cancelled, offering me a refund or a free change to another flight. As only the outward flight was affected I chose the second option and as a result I'm travelling out two days earlier than planned (the nearest I could get to my original date). This has meant extending both my hotel and car hire for the two extra days. Now I appreciate this is not the end of the world (and some might argue I'm lucky that my holiday is now longer than planned!) but it wasn't my choice to do this so I'm wondering whether Easyjet might be liable for the extra costs incurred - does anyone know what the legal position is?

easyJet are not liable for any compensation or expenses incurred by you for the extra hotel/car costs.
You could have insisted that easyJet re-route you from Bristol to your destination on the original date, even if it was on another airline. That may or may not have been feasible depending on your route, and may have meant an indirect flight.0 -
It’s a shame you weren’t aware of your EU reg EC 261:2004 Art. 8 rights.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0
