Contract Transfer
Hi this is the situation...
My girlfriend is with Vodafone. She wants a new phone which is not stocked by the Vodafone shop. Phones4U have the phone and have said they can buy her out of the contract direct with Vodafone.
She can then get the phone she wants and stay on vodafone. (Bizarre I know but true).
The question is..........
Will they do a new credit check on her? She is a little concerned as she has been with vodafone for years and a couple of years ago had some problems with money which left her credit record scarred. Her account with vodafone has always been up to date though.
So bascially to transfer from Vodafone (direct with them) to vodafone (through dealer phones4u) will a credit check be done?
Hope I've explained that properly.
Thanks...

Hi,
What you are describing would be a new contract for Vodafone through phones4u, this is why a credit check would be completed.
When you do this you take on an additional contract and a new number, the number she already has wouldn't be transferred by phones4u and they also couldn't access her account to cancel the original - this can only be done by Vodafone.
Has your grilfriend spoken to the upgrades team to see if there is a similar handset she could have direct from Vodafone? to do this she can call the customer service number 08700 700191 (or 191 from a vodafone handset) and select the option to upgrade to get through to the correct team.
Hopefullyuseful
