Your experience of ECO GRANT replaced Storage Heaters on Economy 7 10 Superdeal or 3 rate tariffs?
Options
A OAP friend has just had replacement Night Storage Heaters with help from the ECO Grant Scheme.
Some of the old storage heaters have been replaced with panel heaters or the new HHR storage heaters. (HHR = High heat retention)
ECO is supposed to reduce OAP electric bills.
My friends has increased:eek:
Interested in other MSE members experiences of ECO Grant replacement new heaters.
Thanks

How can panel heaters that would run at normal rate electricity (except during E7 hours) be cheaper (per kW of heat produced) than any storage heater that is designed to only use low rate electricity?
Depending on the tariff, normal rate can be more than twice as expensive as low rate.
Edit: There was a person on here last week who considered the work of their ECO Grant installation as sub-standard. No details were given, but I'm sure you'll have them
