Mobile mast question
Do mobile masts not have a back up battery that should kick in - in the event of a loss of power to them ?
We had a power outage, two weeks ago and I lost my mobile connection.......it came back, a few hours after the supply returned.
Just wondered because BBC weather warnings say "mobile phone coverage may be affected by snow.."

Yes, all mobile phone base station sites have a degree of battery backup as the majority of equipment is 48v DC powered. The length of this varies depending on how important the site is.
Important Node sites tend to have generator backup as well.0
