Holly, lovely to hear from you, mother didn't speak to us yesterday, so a very quiet visit :D.

    TA early days, hugs

    Snoozer
I hope Steve is feeling better today, take care of yourself.

Very cold, hard frost. Not going out, we have a 'new' jigsaw so we'll give it a go today.

    Take care all

Morning everyone and thanks for the start Nelski, please take care and turn back if necessary.

Hope Steve is a little better today Snoozer.
Lovely to hear from you Holly.

Heavy frost here which has frozen what was left of yesterday’s snow solid, we have more forecasted for this evening and tomorrow is meant to be bad.
I’m meeting a friend for coffee in a while so will be good to catch up on each other’s lives, later I’m heading over to the yard as princess pony is meant to be starting work again today but will see what the arena surface is like.

Hugs to TA and all those struggling, have a good day folks x

Thanks everyone, temp still high but not as high atm. He's had scrambled eggs and toast for breakfast and is settled on the sofa for the day. My stomach is causing me a few problems, stress isn't agreeing with me.

I need to go out and buy bread today and I would like to do a bit of sewing, I haven't managed to do any for a while and that will probably help my stress levels. I've also got several bags for the CS which I've been procrastinating about taking, mainly because there's nowhere to park near the local ones.

I woke up about six so pottered about a bit then went back to bed to stay warm till the central heating started,. Had a cup of tea and a glass of water to take my prescriptions and then browsed on laptop.

Six loads of laundry have been washed for DD and I have folded the curtains and throws that are dry and put another load on clothes horse, radiators and some in the tumble drier. Will have to get dressed and have breakfast before cleaner arrives here and then go to middle dd afterwards to go shopping for curtains for the new house. I ordered some mould and mildew spray for one of her bathrooms as the tiles are in a shocking state. Don't know if the cleaner they paid for yesterday was able to do anything but does not look as if she even tried.

After spending a couple of days a week over the last six months with older DD and baby it is nice to be able to spend some time to help middle dd especially as she is going to be only a few streets away.

It is so good to see Holly posting and sounding positive.

It was supposed to be minus 4 last night so will make sure I look out my warmest coat when I go out. Managed to order another prescription online and a grocery order arrives tonight with enough meat and veg to make some soups, stews, a cottage pie and also a small Sunday lunch if family pop over. They now seem to have got the idea to let me know if they are coming round so that will save my usual last minute panic.

Need to get a move on so see you later and hugs to all.

    Good morning all,

Nels stay safe! I don't envy that trip at all.

Snoozer you're not boring. I hope Steve is a little better this morning. I wish I'd had someone to talk to on the long nights when the HT was a baby and had the same high temp kind of thing. It's hard staying awake watching over a poorly person.

TA I wish I'd known about the flashbacks. I would never have believed that I could have so little control over my own mind - going over and over what happened picture by horrible picture. Even the bits that I hadn't seen my mind made up and showed me over and over. It stopped eventually but it was a good long time. Like watching a bad film that you can't switch off. Hugs xxx

Holly it's good to see you back :)

We're having a quiet few days as the HT has a cough/cold and a sore throat so he's off school. He's having plenty of fluids and cold and flu tablets to loosen his cough. The cat is absolutely delighted to have her favourite human sofa available. She thinks he absolutely belongs to her and she follows him everywhere. I think she's guarding him from me :rotfl: It's a quick tidy round downstairs today (I did the kitchen yesterday) then I can sit and knit for a bit. I need to look at my freezer list to find something for tea as well.

Take care all of you :)

Morning all from a cold and frosty mehefinland
The beautiful sunrise has disappeared under a murky grey cloud - it does not bode well!!
Bruisemare thought it great fun to whizz around on the frosty grass this morning..Scooby thought better of it! They are funny creatures sometimes.

The rayburn is playing silly beggers today and won't burn up like it should. Probably needs a good de-ashing so that will be the next job.. at least its still lit which is a major triumph on occasions. It will go nuts now I've typed this and be like Vesuvius.

Nan I meant to say before about Blorenge.. Got snowed up in Crickhowell Youth Hostel some time in the 70s and had a phone call from my Mum to say don't come home!! They were even worse than us down on the coast. Took me 2 days to get home. Hope we don't get it like that this time, or last March either.

    Right, keep warm everyone
    Hugs and spoon etc.

  • Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

The temperature is -7 here, no snow but the heavy frost makes it look like we have had a dusting. So glad we do not have any appointments, so it will be a sit and keep warm day. I have to be honest, I miss the open fire...by this time it would be roaring up the chimney. I have turned the heating up........

My eye is progressing, the pupil returned to normal yesterday, I can see better, the consultant warned me I would never have 20/20 vision as my sight was so bad before the cataract. OH is getting better at putting the drops in.

My neighbour came in yesterday and asked if I wanted a trip to Adsa, as it happens there were a couple of things I did need, so a trip out in the afternoon, I had to wear my sunglasses, the sun was so bright but it was bitterly cold.

No plans for today, I did manage to iron the pillow cases, will have a shot at the sheet today, and the duvet cover tomorrow. I pulled the quilt up over the duvet last night nice and cosy, could have stayed in bed this morning!!

We are going to sample a couple of the meals I bought last week, I just need to do veg.Verdict in the morning.

TA.... I think about you a lot, it will get easier, please take care.

Snoozer.... hope Steve is better today, I did wonder myself about a very tepid bath, It was a trick I used with my children when they were younger. Hope everything settles.

Holly.... good to see you posting, take it easy, the dust will always be there, what ever!! Look forward to the summer when you are able to get out and go people watching again.

    Morning all,
Snow still frozen here,it had started to thaw a little yesterday afternoon but froze again overnight.Dropped DGS off at school this morning with DS,lots of schools were shut yesterday but they stayed open despite being probably the highest in town. The main roads are fine though.
Stir fry enjoyed for a change last night, though I forgot to pick up the noodles in the stir fry meal deal :o- luckily had some in my stores so need to replace them. Tonight will have something from the butchers pack I'm picking up later.
Good to see you posting Holly.
Sorry you had low times TA,lots of hugs to you ,surprised you haven't had snow where you are xx
DH is having an admin day today,no doubt he'll be mithering me about something soon :D

    Morning all
We both slept in this morning, something unheard of for Mr Fix It .
The skies look very snowy and I've got the snow headache but we've had nothing yet. I'm hoping that it will hold off until DD and family are safely home. SiL can walk from his school and either collect the DGC on the way or we can walk and get them, but I worry about DD as her school is much further up the valley and if we have an inch, they will have 6 inches of snow . Children are always a worry no matter how old they are :(.

Anyway I think it's a day by the fire, the heating will go on later before bedtime. There is a load waiting in the washing basket, but the jury's out as to whether it will be put in the WM or not.
Dad did come for tea yesterday and went home with a goodie bag of curry , assorted accompaniments and some crumble, so I know he will eat properly again today.
Tea tonight will be bacon and eggs etc and there are also some mushrooms that need eating up. Pudding is more of the crumble and custard. I decided to make 3 x 2/3 portions of it, Dad took one and I put one straight in the freezer so I'm not tempted to eat the lot :naughty:. I have a very sweet tooth :o.

Dumpling you can sniff the crumble as much as you like, as that contains no calories :rotfl: I'm only allowed a dessert spoonful myself too :(.
Holly you can borrow him anytime, but I must warn you that he's a very messy chef and doesn't clean up after himself
Mehefin many a time I had to walk home in the snow from school in the 60's because the busses had stopped running as they couldn't make it up the hills . Mind you I was fitter and a lot younger back then :D
TA sorry that you are feeling so down. I shall send you a very large gentle hug :A I had a feeling that something was up yesterday.
Right I'm going to get more headache tablets.

Sending healing vibes to the poorly ones and hugs to all.
Take care and stay safe if you have to venture out and about.
    nan xx

    Afternoon all:D
Am waiting in for a gas man to come n mend my fire, it keeps randomly going off at the mo:mad:
I think it must've snowed again in the night, as my car's covered again, but I'm not going anywhere today :)
Might make some celery soup later if I can be bothered .
NELS have a safe journey hun x
    Special hugs to TA XX
Huggles to all the poorlies n pres offs today :A xx
