Hello chums although there was snow last night it was really more like sleet as it was very wet and slushy and although very cold this morning when the sun came out it soon went ,but we are forecast to get it back sometime tomorrow.
I dug a nice pork chop from the freezer out and will have that tonight with some veg.
Nice little card this morning from my favourite shop dobbies as I have a birthday on the horizon every year as I have a loyalty card I get a card with a nice freebie of a pot of tea for two with two fresh cream scones as well,so I will take one of my friends or DDs out at some point between now and the end of March
I pay £10.00 per year for my card and get two hot teas or coffees per month so its a great bargain as a hot coffee/tea is around £3.00 a pop
I will also get a main meal freebie from the Beefeater chain and also one from the Brewers Fayre pub chain as well near to my birthday, so it's a nice little gift and they will be used up I am not one to turn down a freebie
:) very MSE
Its very cold in north Kent at the moment and I am all layered up
looking a bit like Nanook of the North but warm at least
Good to hear from you H/harvey ,well done and keep the summer in your sights and you will get through OK
Right time to chivvy one of my DGS into their tea making duties
Have a good evening chums and keep warm and dry if possible

I've been chained to my laptop all day and there's more to be done. It's payback for lazy and CBA days!
Despite the hard frost outside I've not lit the stove, am just wrapped in the electric throw (such a great thing) and a couple of woolly jumpers. When I do get up and do stuff I'm almost too hot. There's a red sunset coming in so maybe tomorrow will be better.
Now I'm heading back to the kitchen for some hot tea. My neighbour will call round on her way past later this evening so I can hand over some stuff to her. The rest of the forgotten things will be going in the car for the CS. I must cull the towels too, there are too many for one or two. Why does decluttering cause more clutter with all the bags waiting to go out?:rotfl:0 -
Good afternoon everyone :hello:
We had a few fairly ferocious hailstorms this morning but it is lovely and sunny now with blue skies. The dogs enjoyed running around in the garden until the hail came then they couldn't get in the house fast enough
. They are hovering around the kitchen now as I am cooking sausages for tea and I always cook a couple of extra ones for them.
I have had quite a quiet day spending most of it on my own as everyone else was out at work or college. I managed to stay out of the biscuit tin so I am counting it as a win. I did plan to do some more knitting but just ended up watching telly and dozing...well I am a granny :rotfl:.
Lovely to 'see' you Holly, I too am longing for the warmer weather xx
Hugs to Taff and snoozer and Steve, hope you feel better soon xx
csarina, I am glad your eye feels so much better, Steve has his cataract op next week and I hope he recovers as well as you xx
Aww Nelski, I am so sorry you are not appreciated, we think you are great xx
nannyw, that apple and mincemeat crumble sounds amazing, I can almost smell it (imagine a very chubby Bisto kid :rotfl:) how lovely that you have a cheffy husband too, mine thinks he is Gordon Ramsey
.
Hugs galore to everyone who wants one, I do give the best cwtches too. Hope you are all having a good day, take care xx0 -
Sitting with a miserable Steve whose temp is back to 39.5 or 103 in old money. There's nothing else he can take for it so I have got cool cloths on his forehead and a fan playing on him. The hospital say he's just got to ride it out.
sorry for being so boring but there's no-one else to talk to.0 -
Just popped in to read today’s thread
Snoozer - thinking of you both, hope Steve’s temperature drops soon0 -
Snoozer you are never boring and you are not alone ! I know how hard it is trying to look after someone when there's little you can do yourself. You will both get through this blip ( that's what I call them or I'd be more round the twist than normal ) Stay strong lovely and have another gentle hug from me xx
Hi Topsyturpy please pop in more often.
TA are you Ok too? I do hope so.Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
That’s my excuse dumpling...well I am a granny. I think of all the years of bringing up a family, then working full time, after retirement I looked after an elderly family member for ten years. Still looking after folk but when I do get a bit of me time it’s for me.
Have had a nice old style day today, had to collect a parcel plus post some letters, quick nip round the shops didn’t need much though had to get lemons for lemon drizzle cake plus did buy a couple of small things at the charity shop but glad to get an early bus back out of the cold.
OH not feeling good as had an injection in his eye yesterday and it’s knocked him about a bit, very sore and painful and he is not a complainer takes everything in his stride.
Cold where I am but no snow yet though a heavy frost this morning.
Nothing on TV to interest us this evening so I will hopefully get on with my knitting.0 -
