Company changing plan without approval
Hi . I was wondering if it was legal for a telephone company to change a customers mobile plan without their approval. Vodafone decided to change my £ 10 a month Big Value bundle to Pay as you go 1 . I dont use my mobile very often but they are now charging me £ 1.00 a day for every day that I use it. I have cancelled it but unsure if I have grounds to make a formal complaint.

That’s PAYG, you can leave anytime you want if you don’t like the deal. PAYG entitles you to whatever service you paid for, ie you paid £10 and got a 30 day allowance, you cannot force them to continue offering a PAYG plan further than for the allowance you bought. Did they stop your Big Value bundle before the 30 day expiry?
What contract do you think you have to enforce or make a complaint about?====0 -
PAYG is a contract. At least it's governed by the T&C.
If they did give a written notice as they were supposed to, there are no any grounds for complaining.2. Changing the Terms and Charges. We may change the terms and conditions or the Services. If We do, We’ll give You Written Notice when We can before the change takes effect (See point 2.4 of the terms and conditions). We may also increase or decrease Our prices. Some price increases may give You the right to leave the Agreement and claim back any unused Credit (See point 7.2.3 of the terms and conditions).0 -
Also, Pay as You Go 1 doesn't charge you £1 a day. You are charged per minute, per text and per megabyte with the cost capped at no more than £1.0

The most likely explanation is that there was insufficient credit to renew your Big Bundle and the SIM reverted to its original status. The company haven't changed your contract, I'm sure you can opt back into Big Value bundles.0

Pretty much this, for whatever reason your Big Bundle hasn't been renewed after the 30 days and expired, so when you've topped up again, its reverted to the standard PAYG. You just need to go into a Vodafone shop to top up and get them to restart the Big Bundle. The most likely explanation is that there was insufficient credit to renew your Big Bundle and the SIM reverted to its original status.
