You are far to quick to say I am wrong.
As I said on the lowest fares and for clarification I am reading the fare rules via a GDS.
Higher classes do indeed have lower no show fees or do you think everything is equal when it comes to fare rules?0 -

I paid the lowest fare via OTA. Of course I had no control over the class involved. But the price I paid was lower than the lowest fare indicated on the airline at the time.
But to clarify, I took the option of a refund. So likely I paid the Cancellation Charge as opposed to a" No Show" charge.
I was given the option of re-booking and paying the difference or cancelling the ticket for a refund. It was cheaper to take the refund.
Once again, I will remind anyone that whilst the flight and ground service of Qatar Airways may be up to scratch, their backroom Customer Service is often abysmal. It is definitely company policy.0 -

Problem here is that we don't know the ins and outs of the conversation. But this gives a clue;Got the airport customer service desk for Qatar and the lady without mentioning took us off the flight (apparently without doing that she cannot give us new tickets)
But I was given the option of changing to the next flight for a fee. But it couldn't be carried out as I purchased via OTA and the OTA was closed at the time.
So the next day I contacted the OTA and took the option of a refund and re-purchase, as it was cheaper than changing the date.
So we don't know what was explained and/or whether the OP just went ahead and purchased one way flights, as it was cheaper than amending the existing booking.
OP hasn't come back, so we don't know.0
