Hey guys and girls!

Recently I posted here regarding a issue with a company named Hellix.

Long story cut short, but still quite long.. - I had a debt with Hellix, sister company of Opos/Kapama LTD, Myself and Hellix came to an agreement on a settlement offer, which included a discounted payment, and the account being closed and removed from my account, I also had this agreement sent to me in an email and also a letter, including the fact it should be removed and closed when I pay said amount, This was back in october..so its been a long time.

I paid the discounted settlement, Hellix should then of updated Opos/Kapama, And also the CRA's they use, This wasn't the case, Hellix didn't update anyone at all, I raised a complaint with Hellix, who then pass the complaint onto Opos/Kapama.

Opos/Kapama favoured my complaint, as I had all proof stating the agreement, like I said, this was in October 2018, Opos/Kapama told me the file wouldn't be updating until the following month (November 2018, on the 28th of the month to be exact), as that is when they forward all updated to the CRA's, Now...AGAIN nothing was updated, I Called the companies again, they promised it would be updated in December, and reflect by the end of December or first few days of January latest..

It's now approaching the end of the month, Still no update, I called Experian and Equifax, They both advised me that they haven't received any updates from Opos/Kapama since october 2018..I went on to call Opos/Kapama today, They said they have sent all correspondence in December and Equifax/Experian are having issues with delays in updating peoples credit files, So I went on to calling Equifax/Experian once again, they both confirm that there has been no updates, and they have no issues with delays in updating peoples credit files...now my human instincts tell me, Opos/Kapama are trying to pull wool over my eyes, and once again try to resolve a mistake in the dark, without actually telling me the truth.

What would be my next port of call? I have raised many disputes and complaints within my CRA's and the debtors, and nothing is being done.

Beginning to stress me out and frustrate me as nothing is being done.

TIA for any reply!

  • I would make a written complaint to Opos/Kapama as I think, from what you've said, that they are one reporting to the CRA. If the complaint is not resolved then you can escalate to the ICO.

Yes Opos/Kapama are the ones that should of updated the CRA back in october, but as you can probably guess, they haven't done anything.

I have sent email's/written complaints to them already, so I think I should probably resume and go to the ICO first as last now.

    Thankyou :)!
  • Just called the company again with no response, swings and roundabouts...i mentioned my next step will be the ICO, and immediately "Give me 5 minutes to see what I can do"
  • Update: Still going back and forth with Equifax and Kapama/opos, Equifax are telling me there has still been no update even though the debtors have called me yesterday and today confirming that they have called and updated the CRA..i'm now going to seek legal advice

Give a bit of time for the CRA to be updated, then if nothing happens you can escalate to the ICO as that is the process :)

Had a reply today, Apparently the email got lost in the system back in october, even though I have called multiple times since october,november,december...They have now removed it from my file and refunded me the initial settlement due to mistakes they've made.. coincidental eh!
