Esure Maximum NCD

Hi everyone,

Had a good search around here and with esure but can not seem to find an answer so hoping someone can help.

I am currently at renewal for my car insurance with Churchill and it seems that after following the car insurance guide on here esure are much cheaper so obviously wanting to go with them. Have 14 years NCD, however Churchill only give a maximum of 9 years which is what it is. After reading the esure policy documents it states the info about NCD protection starts at 5 years at policy inception which is also fine if that is what they do. But I am worried that they will start me off at 5 years if I need to switch insurance again next year meaning I will lose 4 years NCD?

Does anyone know if they honour it at 9 and add the years on as normal? Or do they cap at 5 years like Churchill cap at 5 years?

Thanks for reading and hoping someone can shed some light on this?

Best to go to the horse's mouth to ask

Insurers have different max NCD awarded, and can change their own policy on this at any time, thus replies you get here may be out of date for you

I think you are mixing up two things if I read it correctly.
NCD protection starts at 5, that means if you had 3 then you couldn't buy the protection.
That is completely seperate to the NCD you have acquired.

I wouldn't worry about the difference between 9 and 14.
    There isn't really any.

I went to Esure two years ago with 9 years and my latest renewal shows 11 years .
Also the premium has gone down at each renewal.
  • Thanks everyone, called eSure up who advised that they go up to a maximum of 15 years at renewal, but the discount only applies up to 5 :)
