The original DD would have been established on the basis of what info you gave them originally. It a guess and not cast in stone.

Give us the readings and we will try to help find out where this £700 came from. It could be a Flow error, could be a meter reading error ..........

I presume Dag, that like me you have been asked and have given meter readings every month?
Also that you have occasionally logged in to your account and been able to cast a beady eye over whether or not your monthly DD has been covering your useage?
In our case building up a credit from our 73 quid a month during the summer, on account of the solar heating covering hot water, and then seeing that credit being eaten away as the weather gets colder, and the heating is used more and more!

I am in fact considering leaving Flow, to attempt to save a bob or two. However, in our case they are simply saying it will go from 73 to 80 a month, on the 1st April.
As we speak, we are still a few quid in credit.
  • They are charging me over £500 electricity for a one month period during the summer last year. The average for a 3 bed end of terrance per year is £590. Even a five bedroom house averages £864 per year. They have stated that my usage has been nearly £1500 in one year for electricity alone.

And no, I did not provide monthly readings, as I have been quite ill. I have, however, provided them every few months, and more frequently lately, which should have averaged it out. And I have been paying my monthly direct debit of £106 per month, so imagine what it would be if I hadn't?! I have contacted Flow and they state that their claimed usage (not estimated) is correct. I refuse to pay such an astronomical bill, and from my online searches, have found that I am not alone in being conned by Flow. I will take it to the highest complaint level possible before I pay them a penny of this bill.

Please DG1974 give us the meter readings so that we can help you. They are on your bills.

If you want to dispute the bills you need facts and we need facts to help.

Sorry you have been ill Dag. However Flow do send emails every month with a request and a link to insert your meter readings.
If you are saying that you have identified a particular Statement during the year, which showed a huge negative balance figure, that is the five hundred pounds you mention, it will to this day, be reflected in your meter readings. Perhaps if you insert your year start and end readings into a post on this forum, Robin and others could help you?

And when I phoned the Flow Energy 0800 number this morning to discuss my leaving, he did point out that I had received very good service.
I pointed out that I had indeed received gas and electricity, and, at the time of this email, costs in line with what I had agreed.

I don't think DD is thinking that for her £106 a month is a license to use as much as DG1974 can use as much as you want.

I am suspecting a misread of the meter in the summer (perhaps 01234 has been read as 12340) and that Flow are rejecting all meter reads ever since because they are not near what they want.

    DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!

This company starts off offering low prices and says the are here for the consumer.... They are definitely not. I was told the prices I was paying on EON we're ridiculous and that they could lower my monthly payments to 44 pounds a month, bearing in mind I live alone and I am hardly ever in the house, I do not have my heating on regular and only really sit on the computer when home. Then my bills started shooting up until I left the company now they say I owe them over 300 pounds! If this has happened to you like thousands of others I have read please share your stories on other platforms as they regulary get deleted on here. They send lots of messages demanding money and make sure you raise the issue with the regulator or they will continue to rip off the British hardworking public. Terrible company and the call centres and email people are no help at all. Estimated readings continuously putting you into debit with them. THIS NEEDS TO STOP.
