  • We had a lovely evening, I cooked and DH did pudding. Youngest got a V-day present of sweets from his friend, Eldest didn't get any cards 'and that's JUST how i like it.' At 12 he's still puzzled by friends who have started to pair up and appalled at the idea of anyone expressing a romantic interest in him :rotfl:

Honestly, some of the 9 and 10 year olds in school were giving their 'girlfriends' teddies and flowers. I will leave my disapproving face to your imagination :D.

7/15 NSDs, hoping for 8 today.

Hello everyone! I've been awol - the week has been crazy but I've enjoyed catching up on posts this morning. Mothernerd hope you are feeling better and thanks for the inspiration!

I have had a productive week - lots of thinking and planning. I feel good. But think I'm only on 1 more NSD so think that makes 4. No purchases except food - Been planning a couple of second hand items I need to buy (a desk and chair - no buying new this year) and an indian this weekend but that should be it.

hope everyone has a good day

  • Morning Turtles,

NSD #5 yesterday!! But not today as i've just booked flights to Malaga in September with the family. £105 return, so a bit of a steal. Need to rack up some NSD's to save for spending money and that'll be me.

I leave for Scotland today so it could be spendy weekend but I'll do my best to keep them low - promise!

Missed checking in last night - was just too tired - had a nap for 20 mins on sofa in between school pick ups! Thankfully DS2 agreed OH could take him swimming (it was my 'turn') as I don't think I could have coped - I fell asleep last week watching him

Himself has spent another day gently decluttering. I think he is just beginning to realise just how much "stuff" he has hoarded that we really don't need and don't have room for. I've done another bit too but I really need the Boy to sort his out so we can see how much room we have and where everything can go. We have enough books to fill a library and so many CDs.

Still eating from freezer and stores. There is so much I think we are only going to have to buy fruit, veg etc for the foreseeable future. Only spent £18.00 this month so far. Both Himself and the Boy still feeling a bit rubbish so it could be a lot of comforting soup for a bit.

Just over seven weeks till our next trip and Himself has decided he needs to take his health in hand, so to speak. Lots of little things not quite right and a few things that definitely need attention. He's giving up alcohol until we go away and, once he's feeling a bit better, we'll start getting a bit more exercise again. Fingers crossed.

Well, Weekend here. Have a nice one.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.

Worked today. I finish in just over a week as the lady off sick is coming back, I've been there nearly 6 months now and have set up the entire job from scratch as she had only been there 3 weeks, it will be hard for her to come back I think.

Have had hm pizza for my tea, DH and the kids had frozen ones, I also made a chocolate cake when I got in and have frozen half of it and had a lovely slice with a cuppa. Plan on a bit of a dog walk soon then a film and a glass of wine later, ooh I just remembered I have some vegan Magnums so will have one of those too.

I haven't spent today but DH has so once again we have, only £1.60 though. I spent £1 yesterday on a lovely Hollister flannel shirt, it's a mans large but a small large and has beautifully long sleeves, it is in shades of pink and turquoise. My new cycling jacket arrived in the post today, fluro pink so I will be seen.

lauren - good luck on Monday if I forget nearer the time, hope you are a match.

  • Hello :hello:
Much love to all of the turtles needing it. I often find February tougher than January, even though it's shorter and the mornings and evenings are getting a bit lighter. It's been tough for a long time now since Christmas and we're still recovering from January as well :rotfl: That's why I booked the holiday, which I am now unbelievably nervous about. I haven't been on an aeroplane since before my kids were born (and dd is 14) so there's a big fear of the unknown. I'm sure I'll be fine once we get there, but it's a big step out of my comfort zone.
I've made it to half term, and have to get up at approximately 5.30am tomorrow to get to the airport. Still can't quite believe I'm doing it. Think I'm just about good to go though - bags are packed, catsitter sorted, my sister has the spare key to keep an eye on the place, washing all done. Now all I need is a good night's sleep. :)
No chance to catch up on financials, I'm going to get on with enjoying my holiday and time off with my kids - then worry about getting sorted when I get back next week.

    mothernerd - Thank you.
ccl - Have a wonderful holiday.
Was a spend day. Only a small food top up and tv mag.
Used loyalty points to get plug adapter for my holiday, so saved £5.50.
    Did walk to/from all shops.
Got rid of my prescribed tablets that I am no longer taking to the chemist.
Stayed in for the rest of the day, chilled out and self care.

Kerry Woman - when are you going away? Is it to Memphis?

Today I am grateful for laughter with dd, for train travel being so simple for the route I do despite delays, for time with mum, for finding some brand new h0tt3r black work shoes in a ch shop (they've been on my needs list for a while), for a beautiful sunset through the trees, for a quiet evening to myself, for re-watching the first episode of the 'new' Sherlock, for being on half term.
