  • My month runs from the 27th-27th.

    F
Food Expenditure will be £100. I have spent £9.40 of this already eating out. I usually spend £100 ish on food and £50 on eating out.

E Excursions and entertainment. No plants for me at all, but I will be supporting my partner to book her flights asap once she is paid to save money. Using a cashback site of cause!

B Budget: Done but need to work on price of car and insurance as buying these this week.

R Reduce takeaways to £0 for the rest of the month.

U Useful leftovers. Frogs are buying a car and trying to drive alone without my partner in the car.

A Aim to take your lunch to work every day: Will do 20 days at work.

R Remind yourself of what you have and be grateful. Will do :)

Y Savings paid after payday and debt paid throughout the month. What is left at the end of the month will be split between the two.

S Spend Free Days (SFDs). You will aim for 18.

U Use it up. We are working through the freezer as we want to defrost it. Also using up toiletries.

R Regular check ins are recommended, daily if possible. May not be daily but will see what I do.

V Valentines will be a small celebration, we may have a restaurant voucher which will cover the whole expense.

I Indoors/outdoors. Will actually try to do this. On work days I'm on my feet all day and moving, so may not on these days.

Indoors - Write down 10 things that help improve your mood and practice them regularly - I will explore this tonight.

V Agree no takeaway or food bought at work.

A Advance planning. For meals and travel to save money. I need to build a free greenhouse I was given. Will try and get this done this weekend.

L Budget will end on the 27th.
19/12/14: Spent 10 years of savings!!
:heart2: ..... to buy my first home. :heart2:
    11K OP 31.03.19

Current goal: €151,000 deposit Ireland and counting, to buy Spring 2022 we hope!

Thank you mother nerd for sorting this. I’m ready and set for feb. We’ve moved our shop to weekly to save dosh and not over buy on stuff, also planning to drop £5 off a week as we ,currently spend £200 a month. Our aim is max £30 a week eventually.
We got a meal voucher for Xmas so are using that for a dreaded 14th meal, otherwise we wouldn’t bother. We’ll see how things progress once feb starts, aim8ng for at least 10 NSD s
It doesn’t help my wage has taken a massive hit with being off sick for a short period. No work no pay.
    Looking forward to the challenge!

    Thank you for my number.

Food budget for me is currently £80 per week but I think I can slim it down a little. There's 5 of us and I provide 3 meals a day for all 5 of us!

SFD's - I would like to get 16 SFD's this month. That's my target but I'd like to do more if possible! :D

We don't do take away's at the moment as we're debt busting so my budget is pretty set. Slight issue in that my DD for my TV licence went awry a few months ago and this month is the month it sets back to square again.....£116 instead of £40! Other than that, bring on the frugality. I'm selling/decluttering as I go too, so lets see how it goes.

    Think I'm ready to go.

    Hi
Can I join this month please. I’m Cuddlymarm

R Reduce your planned food expenditure - I have a 4 weekly food budget of £153.85 an odd figure but I am aiming for £2000 for the year so £30 off this will be £123.85

U Useful leftovers. I have made a list of frogs which mainly consist of tidying and decluttering small areas. We have loads of clothes and for the foreseeable future aim not to buy any more until absolutely necessary. Wearing out/ dieting out of which will then be making into cleaning cloths/Taking to the charity shop.

A Aim to take your lunch to work every day. I don’t have lunch at work because I usually work over lunch time so eat at home before/ after. Mainly leftovers but always cheap and cheerful.

R Remind yourself of what you have and be grateful. I always try to think positive so will try my best.

Y You should pay to your debt or savings first. I get paid every Friday so pay £50 off my debt straight away and then what’s left in my account on Thursday evening.

S Spend Free Days (SFDs). You will aim for 18.

U Use it up. I’m afraid I’m keeping my food stores high at the moment due to the uncertainties of Brexit. I haven’t got cans stored in strange places but feel better with full food cupboards and freezer. But I do have a glut of moisturiser which means I won’t be buying any for quite a while.

R Regular check ins are recommended, daily if possible.

V Turtles generally avoid the consumer fest of bad taste on the 14th of the month. We’ve been married 35 years and don’t wait till one day a year to say that we love each other.

I Indoors/outdoors. Regular exercise is important. I work in a shop where I am walking, bending and stretching for hours at a time so will try on my days off.

Indoors - I mentioned being a hermit. Nurture and protect yourself. Huddle by the fire, go to bed early, read, have hot drinks and comforting home made soup. Recharge your
batteries. Rest and conserve your energy. Guard your mental health. Write down 10 things that help improve your mood and practice them regularly.

V Vending machines, coffee shops, takeaways will be avoided like the plague.

A Advance planning. Meal planning and making meals from scratch (no food waste) are your friends. Meal plan already done for the next week. We buy a lot of frozen veg and berries which means no waste. Fresh meat goes straight to the freezer and then I get out as needed. Leftover cooked veg is put straight in the freezer.

My SIL is 60 next month so present and night out needed. I also plan to buy a 12 week SW plan because you get 2 of the weeks free. I’m attempting to get to target by the end of it and it is an added incentive.

L Let the challenge commence at midnight on 1st February 2019 and end on 28th February 2019

    June NSD 8/15

Great start for me. Today is the first day of my February - and my on-line shop had gone wrong and been cancelled by them so now I have to get the bus into town (bus fare :( ) and bring back 3 days of food and then go out....again.....at the weekend to get the rest. Not happy!

Edit: managed to book a delivery slot with a different supermarket (back to Tesco I go!) for non-extortionate rate for tomorrow morning...now only need to get 1 day of food! Better!

Edit 2: Booked the slot, put my list on to Tesco and it's £7 cheaper than with Morrisons and I've even put extra fruit on! Now I only need to get milk and bits for tonight for the kids, and pack up lunches for the kids for tomorrow.

    Good morning,

I know it's not quite February yet but we're off to a good start. Got paid and paid the debt, the mortgage OP and the savings. Did a meal plan, shopping list and sorted online ADSA order for tomorrow.

Finally feel we're heading in the right direction. Savings are coming along, got a pot for the car finally and it feels so good to chuck money at the mortgage.
