Thanks everyone for such kind comments about me falling over! I am feeling a bit better - did the 'cosy yoga' video on the yoga with Adrienne Youtube channel on my friend's recommendation on Monday and I cannot recommend it enough, it was so gentle and slow and just felt like the ultimate self care perfect if you have never done Yoga before.
I have done 3 NSDs, the days where I have spent money I have been under budget so far so I feel good about that. Got a trip on Saturday but besides that February is turning out to be a low key and local month which I am perfectly fine with. Actually managed a run yesterday as I needed to shake off the cobwebs, am finally on week 7 of couch to 5k this programme may be taking forever but I am so proud of myself for not giving up!

Sending strength to anyone flailing today! xx

Was a spend day. Check up at dentist, tv mag, a tiny food top up and a deposit for a retreat.
The weekend retreat was an unexpected spend but I saw it was on grief on a priory website a place where my Mum loved going. I also love going there.
Walked to and from dentist, luckily it was only a check up required as no other issues.
    Some self care done.

The retreat sounds lovely Kerry Woman.

I've been pottering purposefully. Took a book and 8 things for the charity bin to the library, found 74p roadkill on the way. Sorted out a trayful (>200) embroidery threads to give to a friend who's just beginning. Mine are once more in number order and all lined up.

Nearly gave in to despair in the middle, trying to move the ones in order across to mine and giveaways and shuffling the odd ones dotted about in line at the same time (otherwise you have to shuffle all the way from one end to put them in their proper place). I was thinking that it would not make much difference for the time taken but if I do this with all the other bits, it will.

Went back to the library with a weekend bag for the charity bin and 7 items for the food bank box. brought the bin back and put a small bag of rubbish in. Emptied the washing machine, filled the dishwasher, another sack of paper has gone into recycling. Little spaces are opening up, will just have to keep going. Sharpened several pairs of scissors (one is another giveaway, maybe more). Two broken items and a shirt of DS3's that refuses to part with the stains on it binned.

Today I am grateful for managing to walk to the library twice unaided, for making easy decisions on parting with things and for progress however slowly.

mothernerd - The retreat is in March and thought to book it. You are doing so well in sorting things out.

This must be the first NSD on a Thursday I've had for a while. usually I go out for a couple of drinks as my main job finishes on Thursday, but I live so close to work now that I've slunk home and now in bed with a cup of lemon and ginger and toast and a hot water bottle. Couldn't be happier hermitting!

How did you sharpen your scissors mothernerd? You've done a lot more walking today than recently - hopefully no aches and pains from it.

Kerry woman - that retreat does sound good.

Shrewbie - how to you make toast? When I was there, all the sliced bread was 'pan Bimbo' and too small and sweet for my liking. Plus, no-one had a toaster!

Today I am grateful for keeping on top of things at work, for enjoyable times with the pupils, for doing a workout, for dh doing a whites wash, for dd enjoying taekwondo despite being really tired, for my sea of dark purple croci looking absolutely gorgeous, for thinking ahead to take a different route and avoid certain roadworks, for scraping by with enough wool to have made matching socks for step dd, her dh and dsd.

apple - get a piece of coarse sandpaper and cut it with the scissors. Lots and lots of cuts. Work your way round the outside and then cut crossways as well. Hold it over a bin because you get tiny squares. Years ago I had a stone - think it was volcanic because it had lots of holes in it. I would use that for flat scissors , scraping the blades along it, but it wouldn't have worked on the pinking shears.

Both pairs of pinking shears are now much improved but may treat myself to a new pair (one of the pairs was my grandma's and she's been dead for over 40 years). They are working but still a bit stiff - think it would hurt very quickly. At crafts I have used a pair belonging to my co-leader and they were wonderful, so easy to use. Mine have never been that good. My shears cost about 27 pounds, when I was in my early twenties (it was equal to my first week's wages).

  • #28 checking in.

So far so good. Project use up continues only one gifted stock cube left :A freezer has space now too :A

I've been managing a run every other day outdoors, even today in the most brutal of wind. So go for my MH though. Step count average >10k which I'm happy with too

Spending is limited too, although planned spend of an oven clean today. Looks brand new and so worth it. Food spends remain low whilst on project use up. Veg box arrives tomorrow, looking forward to contents :D

No excursions here, volunteered tonight was rewarded with a cuppa and two hm biscuits. I'll take that ;)

Grateful for my wonderful family, ability to have the heating on and being able to get out and run.
