You obviously know what you're talking about, re Smarttalk!
It would appear you don’t...
You don’t get free calls using the app, you are charged the same as it would cost making calls from your BT landline. What is BT SmartTalk?
BT SmartTalk is a smartphone app which allows you to make calls on your smartphone, over wi-fi or mobile data, using your BT home phone calling plan. When calling from abroad, you can use the app over wi-fi to avoid mobile data roaming charges. And calls to the UK are charged at UK landline rates.

Inclusive calls are not the same as free calls, perhaps it’s you who needs to get the terms right?
If you stopped paying BT for the call allowance, how many minutes of “free calls” would you get?
If you pay for something it is impossible for it to be described as free.
Here’s another question, does a person who has inclusive weekend calls get “free calls” on a Tuesday afternoon?
PS
Try not to mangle the “Quote” tags, it makes it rather difficult to follow what is being said.====0 -

I now understand how you have over 7000 posts. You'd argue black was white!!!!David.0 -

No, I’d just argue that something you pay for is not free.
Just like the “free phone” some people think they get for paying the network £50 a month.
When you understand the difference being buying an allowance and getting something for free you’ll understand as well.
Have a look, both options shown here are not free but actually cost money.
Unless you’re saying you don’t have to pay £9.99 a month to be able to make your “free calls” during a weekday?====0 -
The benefit of SmartTalk is that it made use of inclusive minutes if you had them, so allowed you to dial a PSTN number from your mobile without incurring any additional call charges. Obviously WhatsApp is great for calling your mum in the same circumstances, but not a business for example. Using a VOIP provider where you incur a cost for the outbound call is workable but not a direct replacement. SmartTalk also presented he CLI of your mobile number.0

A person on the standard £19.99 a month line rental will incur call costs for any calls made Monday-Friday (at a much higher rate than Sipgate, for example).
A weekday landline call would cost a standard BT customer using Smartalk 15p per minute + 23p call setup charge, calling a UK mobile would cost 18p per minute + 23p call setup charge.====0 -
Yes, that's pretty obvious. My post was clearly about being able to use your inclusive call package, not chargeable calls.0
