I have 2 ducks, a large ham, LOADS of sausages, bacon, stewing beef, eggs, etc all on order from my local butcher, don't know what it'll cost but I know I'll always get a good deal!

I have used this company and the meat is delicious. The last day for ordering is 19/12/07 with free delivery. They have a ribe eye roast for £21.00.
    Hope this helps

  • well it paid for me to shop around and I found the cheapest place was the co-op:eek:somewhere I don't usually shop I'm a tesco fan anyway I shopped around and this year I thought instead of the usual turkey/chicken I would have a ham...well co-op 8lb ham £13.38 else where they were very small about 2 lb in weight for £9.99 so I think I got a bargain really then there pork was on offer so much off so I got a pork joint 2lbs for £2.99 and a pork stuffed joint 21/2lbs for £3.04 so not bad really....happy holidays:Dthen I had to buy a bigger pan for £9.50 at M & S to put the ham in so didn't really save much but Ill have the pan ready next year ....:D:rotfl:

  • that's very cheap our butcher is a butcher on my purse strings so not so cheap here...I once went in and bought "buy 2lbs and get 1lb free" so 3lb in total...mince/ pork chops/ sausages /stewing steak/ some cooked ham for sandwiches and it came to over £20 I have never gone in there since....you should have seen my face it dropped well under the floor boards but I still bought the lot which did last us for quite some time...but I can't afford those prices...:D

I swa a nice boneless turkey in the M&S xmas food booklet for about £30 (i think). There are only 3 of us so that should do xmas day, a sandwich each in the evening & some to go with a gammon on boxing day.
Will probably spend about £10 on a smoked gammon as well.
Three nice small steaks for boxing day breakfast too probably £6.
Maybe some smoked salmon for bagels on xmas morning.

There are only three of us.
That M&S turkey says its got 7-10 portions, I'm wondering is that enough for 6 dinners & 3 sandwiches, you know how they say a gateaux has 16 portions.......well yes if you want them wafer thin!!!

There's just the two of us this year, we got a small turkey crown from Sainsbury's yesterday for £13. Says it feed 3. A lot cheaper than M&S!

I just bought a boned goose stuffed with a boned turkey stuffed with a boned pheasent for £50 or £60 from these people.
    http://www.northfieldfarm.com/xmas.aspx

Everyone else was charging £100/£120 and none of them are still doing xmas delivery. These people are still taking orders for delivery on Friday if you give them a ring.
Would have cost £25 a kilo if Id got them to make me one from fresh but she said she had some frozen ones that she would let me have at that bargain price. And given that a lot of the other websites are also sending you a frozen bird (for twice the price) I thought it was a very good deal.

It says the "three bird roast" is £144 (& some odd pence!).
How did you get one so cheap from them, my hubby wanted one of them.

I just rang up to buy a normal one and she said she had some frozen ones left over from "mickle miss" (whenever that is) if you want one give her a ring and see if she still has some forzen ones left , I think last dispatch day is today.
