The till can also show you up as "suspisious" to alarm the till assistant if you are buying too many, and you could loose your card and points if you are not careful. I read the story about the police office that was using a 150 point coupon at a self serve till, and was going in three times a day and over 2 weeks accrued 75,000 points!! no wonder the alarm went off. He done this for air miles and Tesco took him to court and won.
the policeman had one voucher which he reused at the self service till while feeding the till blank pieces of paper in the voucher slot, he was convicted of going equipt to commit fraud and rightly so. Asking a SA to 'see if these vouchers/coupons will scan' is and never will be illegal, so dont loss sleep and keep trying. oh and use different clubcards in your hubbys/wifes/kids names to 'spread' the points. i doGreat Sage, equal of Heaven.0 -
Just went to local tescos. Managed to get the booklet, ordered my keyring gave the cashier the voucher she scanned it and said sorry cant use the voucher as you need to buy a canvas print. So how are other people getting theirs scanned as she did it and it wouldnt except it. Well :mad:0

Eh? 150 x 3 = 450 x 14 (2 weeks) = err too much Tesco value lager tonight, but not 75,000! I've no doubt this is a true story but the maths/timings are out a bit!

Just to clarify what Tesco's have said with regards to the keyrings over the weekend.
Basically they misprinted the coupons which were meant to only be for the canvas prints (hence the t & c on the back) unfortunately (for tesco!) the barcode works on a number of products and due to the amount of people that found out, have dished out rather a lot of CCP :rotfl:
This was brought to the powers at be attention last friday, i guess by the amount of keyrings purchased!!!!! they then straight away had new magazines printed with correct coupons which are now being distributed. store managers were made aware however it clearly hasn't trickled down to some SA and therefore the misprinted coupons are still working however the new ones won't and soon all stores will know not to accept.
long and short, if u still have old coupons u need to use them asap at stores that are yet to be told otherwise.
If you're now picking up mags in store, the chances are they have now been reprinted.
hope that helps!!!0 -

Hmmm, where has this info come from then? If it was such a problem for them they only need to update their till systems to stop the vouchers being accepted, not reprint thousands of magazines (which were still available lastnight).
Sounds like an urban myth picked up on another site. A couple of good ones I spotted were, woman goes to order a keyring, SA says "are you sure you want to risk it?" & points to another customer having her shopping rifled through by security & says "She's being banned". Keyring police LOL.
The other one was "My husband had just bought a photo frame & was waiting for some cardboard boxes from the back(??!)..." the story then goes that the supervisor just happened to come over at that exact moment to empty the coupons from the SS till, spotted the 2 200 pointers & asked the SA "Who used these?" & pointed at said husband as be showed a clean pair of heels.
Youreds! (3800 points & counting on magnetic photo frames)0 -

The above was me, it's up to you if you believe it or not, but I'm not making it up. It was the Oxford store, (my parents live in Oxford ) Oxford is not the only store that is refusing them. I wish I hadn't bothered posting it anymore.
I have loads of the vouchers and my store (bristol) won't take them either. PM me if anyone would like them. Maybe be I'm making that up then either. and by the way it wasn't a policeman it was a security guard.Kind Regards

If they wanted to they could check your spend to points ratio and obviously it wouldnt tally.... this has been known and people have lost lots of points..
make of it what you will and risk it if you want ultimately its down to the individual...
however once points lost and card banned it aint easy to get them back....Bit of a Florida Fan :j

Sorry about the ealrier rant, I just saw red when I saw the post.
The sa did say that the women had been going in everyday, so whilst i don't surpose they care about the odd keyring or photo frame I guess they get p**sed off when a customer is gaining thousands of points a day. I only posted the info because I know how gutted I'd be if I'd lost my points and I would be giving something back to the forum as I 've benifited from other peoples posts.
Anyway if anyone does want my vouchers I'm happy to give them away Bristol won't take them so i can't use them.Kind Regards
