Op I don’t really think this is a nightmare, as others have said the only real issue is why they told you it was taxed.

Did your nightmare drive get sorted

Having worked in finance myself it is not the 'norm'.

I don't feel it was my mistake regarding tax, as motoring regulations change all the time. To some degree when you go to pay £200 for road tax and they tell you oh it sok its paid until June you trust what you are being told my a main stream dealer.

Lots of helpful advice given on your driveway thread. You haven't bothered to update...

Perhaps a bit more due diligence before making financial decisions?

The car situation is not a nightmare.

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

How dare you. I replied personally to several people. I have not long had a baby so I have been other wise engaged.

Your lack of understanding is empathy is disgusting.

For your information the chap doing the driveway is currently being investigated for the wrongful activities on 17 others who also by your account are lacking in due diligence. I shall be sure to make sure I mention this to them when I see them all in court. I am sure it will make them all feel better about the situation they have been put in.

Regarding the 3% finance, it is the norm for finance rates to be APR. Not an overall percentage.

Interest rates being shown as an annual rate is the norm.
Just do a search on Google for "car finance rates UK" and you will see that they all state an APR for the figure.

    Regarding the tax.
As you've paid the dealer for this, hopefully it shouldn't be too much of a problem getting this money refunded and maybe getting a freebie of some sort thrown in.

I didn’t say you were silly, I said the car situation is not a nightmare...it just isn’t. They shouldn’t have told you it was taxed. The APR is your misunderstanding. Ring them about the tax and see what they say.

Regarding your drive , if you start a thread its just good manners to update it after getting advice.

I hope you get your drive sorted

Wow I see you have updated now , by going way over the top...you weren’t told off, and no body said you need to reply to everybody, just the thread in general is polite

I fully appreciate everyone that offered advice be it positive or negative towards me.

The fact is with having so much going on its not always easy to find time to update.

No I don't think it was over the top. Some people who respond on forums such as these are not there to offer advice but get a kick out of making you feel stupid. But hey who cares what someone's state of mind is in and how their comments will effect them

    No one is being negative.

It is constructive criticism which can be unbelievably helpful. It has certainly helped me in the past.

Babies are tiring. I have twin toddlers. But don't let molehill issues seem like a mountain. The car issue is minor and just needs a phone call.
