Don't get hung up on the 19 plate thing, it really doesn't matter unless you're worried about impressing people with the latest reg for as long as possible. You don't seem to be the sort of person worried about impressing others.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

Well lets put it this way, im buyer a Dacia Duster :rotfl:0 -
Yes.
As far as 19-plate goes, let's just look again at the timeline:
Original estimate - wk2/3 of Jan (wk3 ended 18th). Told on 22nd would be in 23rd. Told on 25th would be in by 1st Feb. Now told will be 5th Feb. That's three weeks plus two working days after the latest date of the original estimate.
So you now WANT to delay it by a FURTHER three weeks plus three working days...?
No I'd rather not delay it. I just think it the ploy right from the start was to get me to order a 68 rather than holding off for the 19. If at the start I was told it would early Feb I would have said I will wait. I walked into the showroom thinking I would be ordering a 19 plate anyway, he sold this week on the premise of it being here earlier.
The only thing that concerns me slightly is the resale value of a late 68 would be considered less than the equivalent early 19. Other than that it makes no difference to me.
Fingers crossed it does actually turn up on the 5th!0 -
How long are you expecting to keep it? If you keep it 4+ years then 68 vs 19 plate will make negligible difference.0

We're collecting our new car next week and we pay the balance then.0

But, yes, of course, they're going to have targets for specific financial periods.0 -
The problem is Tuesday last week I signed the registration document and emailed it back it already had a 68 reg on it. Does this mean its already registered?
Yes I do still want the car and would rather not pull out.
If the reg shows up on here: https://vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk/ViewVehicle then it is probably too late. Although they might not have sent it off (electronically) to the DVLA yet, not until they actually have the car perhaps.0 -
