WARNING - If you leave (Plusnet) mid contract without giving them 30 days notice they withhold the balance for the remainder of the contract. They don’t warn you when you request the PAC code as it is in their T&Cs. A fact not made clear enough!

  • Unless things have changed Plusnet is a rolling monthly contract, requesting your PAC is giving notice. Withhold what balance? Do you have a phone through them? If so and it's in the T&C's then that is clear enough (you did read them didn't you?)

I had a rolling monthly sim only deal. I was not deemed to have given them notice as my PAC code request was instant (they have to do it now by law). I think this is a con as timing your request to the exact date of your contract is nigh on impossible. I did not read their T&Cs as I was in a hurry to leave due to their poor coverage. I needed my phone in an emergency and it didn’t work!

I thought a PAC code was valid for 30 days? Can't you give notice, and then move towards the end of that period?

Porting authorisation code codes have been given instantly for a long time. It’s your responsibility to use your porting authorisation code code near the end of the 30 days validity if you don’t want to pay for 30 days you aren’t using.

    PS

Most people just call it a porting authorisation code, or PAC for short...

With or without a notice - this makes no difference at Plusnet or at any other provider.
They charge you for the next 30 days from either issuing a PAC or receiving a notice.
