Help with Orange PAYG tariffs please
If I top up with at least £10 each month, I get 600 minutes of free Orange to Orange calls to be used between 7pm and 11.59pm in the following month.
I can't find details of this deal anywhere on the Orange website, including in the section for old deals / price plans which aren't available to new customers any more. (The sim and phone are about four years old, which might go some way to explaining that.)
Does anyone recognise this deal? I actually have no idea what my current tariff is, and as such, don't know if I'm getting the best deal for my circumstances. Sad, I know, but that's why I'm asking for help.
Furthermore...
My OH is in Jersey at the moment, and I'm not quite sure if that's in the UK for Orange's purposes. The country code over there is +44, but what with Jersey being in the Channel Islands, I wasn't sure if it would be classed as local or international. I imagine it gets treated the same way as Ireland? I'm not really sure what that is though.
I can't find Jersey or the Channel islands under Orange's list of countries that can be called, so I'm hoping it's classed as UK? And I can still call my OH's Orange mobile for free whilst he's over there?
If you can help answer any of my questions, I'd be really grateful. Thanks

You are right about Jersey being in the "Ireland" zone, as too is Guernsey and Isle of Man:

Pay as you Go Price Guide is in PDF here:
http://www1.orange.co.uk/service_plans/downloads/payg_services_costs.pdf
Does it list the tariff/bonus scheme you are on?0 -
I can't find details of my bonus plan there - I'm sure it's not in the PDF unless I'm being really thick.
If Jersey comes under Ireland, and if I'm reading this correct, it's going to cost me 20p a minute to call him, and 19p a minute for him to receive the call... So 39p a minute? Isn't that a bit steep?
To confuse matters more... I got this in an email from Orange today:
"Thank you for your mail regarding your query.
We can confirm calls made to another Orange user that is currently abroad, whilt you are still in the UK will be charged at your standard Orange to Orange rates."
That can't be right, surely...?

if he's taking his orange number your calls to him are no different only he is charged extra for receiving the call, (the 19p) so its how ever much u usually pay to call him plus the 19p

What is the name of the "bonus scheme" you are on? When was it introduced/available?I can't find details of my bonus plan there - I'm sure it's not in the PDF unless I'm being really thick.
So he has an Orange UK SIM card and will be taking it to Jersey. In which case he will be roaming and will incur incoming roaming charges. However, calls to his +44 7 number will still be charged at the normal Orange rate choose where in the world he is.If Jersey comes under Ireland, and if I'm reading this correct, it's going to cost me 20p a minute to call him, and 19p a minute for him to receive the call... So 39p a minute? Isn't that a bit steep?
The fact that Jersey uses +44 numbers is completely irrelevant because his incoming mobile number is always the same. So the reply from Orange CS was correct.0 -
So basically it's going to cost us 19p for him to receive the call, but nowt for me to call him? (If I use up my free minutes.) That's a lot clearer - thank you both for your help.
Is there a simple way for me to check which tariff my sim card is linked to? e.g. call a certain number from the phone ?0 -

Now that's something I can't help with. Orange (and the others) are forever changing the tariffs available. Call customer services, although that's probably chargeable. Have you registered on Orange's website? It might tell you on there:
http://www1.orange.co.uk/yourmobileaccount/
If he is staying a long time and his phone is not locked to Orange UK, he might consider getting a SIM card for one of the providers in Jersey.
I know 18185 allows calls to 07 mobile numbers, but I'm not sure if that covers non-UK +44 7 numbers like Jersey. If it does, and you can call from a landline, then it might be cheaper to do that. It all depends on how long he will be there and how many calls there will be.0 -
With the bonus top up on speak and easy I topped up with £10 and I think i received £1 credit (10%) but I'd rather receive the 50 free texts instead.
Anybody know how to do this?

I'm on the same deal but I get 300 free texts as well. The deal ended about 2 yrs ago, I seem to remember that the 'evening calls' part of the deal was withdrawn pretty sharpish but the text element continued for a while
None of their new tariffs are as good, not even Mob Mates.0
