Hi , I run an outside catering trailer and would like to install a 42inch tv in a weatherproof box to display my menu . Would this be possible by putting something on to a usb stick to plug into the TV , thanks for any help

Easiest thing I can think of is a USB stick with one jpg file (your menu), TV should be able to show that indefinitely. If you want to somehow protect the screen from showing the same picture 24/7, you could add a second picture with your logo or other details (or simply have the same menu in two different colours/positions)0

Ok ,so would it be possible to split the screen one half with menu and the other with specials scrolling !!? Don't want much do I 0

Maybe speak to the specialists who build and sell this stuff on a daily basis, and see what they can offer .......

We use Intel compute sticks for similar purpose.
Its basically a windows 10 computer in a "stick" sized device that sits directly in the HDMI socket on the TV.
Then you could use any number of different software running on it to produce the effect you need.
Entry level one here shouldnt hit the pocket too hard and will work great for what you need

A raspberry pi could also do it. Not quite so tidy as all going into a stick hanging out of the hdmi port, but needn't be much worse. Mine is just attached to the TV's rear mounting holes.0

How do you connect to them (mouse/keyboard)? USB port? Can they be connected to the internet?0 -
The easiest way is to run a repeating slide show on the TV, if it has the correct capability.
If not, there are all sorts of options from running computing devices as above, to digging out an old DVD player (which can quite often run slide shows from DVD, CD or USB stick).0 -
That looks amazing, didn't know they even existed.

They have one USB(3.0) socket on the device its self, and 2 more built into the ac adapter.
No ethernet but wifi
Cracking little pieces of kit :beer:0 -
Thanks, I'll probably buy one for our projector, it looks a valid alternative to laptops, especially when space is limited.0

^^ yeah I recently replaced 7 PC's in all the meeting rooms that were connected to projectors and hidden in the ceiling etc with these sticks - I have never looked back.
Wireless kb and mouse
One thing to note is that they come with W10 Home and not pro, so if you're going to connect them to your domain you have to get 'creative'0
