Declined mortgage on my credit report but don’t know why!

Lenders aren't going to ask questions. They'll simply assume the worst. Paying on time is a basic requirement. Lenders aren't going to advance you thousands of pounds for a mortgage on the off chance you don't make repayments on time.
Think of yourself being in a beauty competition. Lenders have set targets for lending at any given point in time. If there's a better applicant they'll choose them over you. That's the bottom line. Mortgages aren't sold like cans of baked beans, i.e. in volume.0 -
I work with lending criteria as part of my job. If you have 3 or more late payments in a 12 month period you would be declined. It can vary between lenders. If you ever have a dispute again it’s best to pay the sum and claim it back. Credit files are very black and white.0
