Hello everyone, I did the Friday tidy before going out to the sewing group, and wonder of wonders, did a short yoga routine before I left the bedroom to have breakfast. This new yoga class is having a good effect on me.

Speky, I would keep your own counsel. It may well have been mentioned in your predecessor's exit interview, and if no predecessor, it will be very obvious that any increase in results has happened since you arrived. Also, the senior staff may have access to call logs and computer activity logs. I would stay schtum and let your own work speak for itself. It's annoying, but my observations from four decades of varied work situations is that bosses don't appreciate a whistle blower as much as you would expect. In fact they seem to circle the wagons with the whistle blower on the outside. Ca' canny, as the saying goes. Others may have different perspectives, and that's fine. But none of us would want you to feel miserable, rather than just irritated. There's a fly in every jar of ointment!

I'm having a restful afternoon then going to a friend's for a wee celebration. We've booked a week in November in a lovely cottage up north, made possible by a fab loyalty discount of 25 percent which at off peak rates gives us both a terrific price and something lovely to look forward to later in the year, without busting the bank. Also, by this evening she will have finished her online tax assessment. That's definitely worthy of a celebration!

I wasn't awake as early as some of you, but it's notable how many of us don't have a great night's sleep. Hoping the sandman treats you well tonight.

Our frost has gone and my phone is telling me it's 9C! Like Gers I got rather hot out shopping earlier, with too many layers for the increased temperature.

I'm off to fire up the laptop and transfer to my friend's bank account my half of the deposit for the cottage. *happy dance*

  • TAFF take care and let Mr Taff take the strain.

SPEKY - say nothing, it will all come to light in time.

GERS - Nice to hear mum is much perkier.

Like AOD I couldn't summon up the oomph either for the Friday Tidy and it was just a quick trundle round with the G Tech. Firstly I am blaming this hip which is taking it's time easing off. Secondly I have been beset with a family mystery which appeared out of the blue this morning! It dates back to the early 1900's and I have been knee deep in my family history stuff to try and solve it. No luck and I am getting frustrated. Where's that time machine when you want it!

I am expecting DD and the girls popping in after school to collect some stuff. That'll take my mind off the mystery as I am currently like a dog with a bone with it!

Take care all and I hope all went well for MR SNOOZER at the hospital. xx

Taff- I'm sure you'll be forgiven for being grumpy at the moment.Hope recovery goes well and you get on that motorbike before you know it .
Nanny, thanks for asking ,she's only just gone in to theatre:eek:She had to be there at 12.30 so they've been in the waiting room over 4 hours. Poor thing hasnt eaten since tea last night, and only had a thimbleful of juice today, she's starving - loves her food that one! Anyway she'll soon be back home hopefully, its only a 10 min procedure.
CG, oh no what a faff going back again .Sympathise with the lifting him into the car- its a 2 man job with Ly1a :rotfl:Hope they pay out!

    xx

  • ROSYRED It's a complicated story so I won't waffle on but a postcard postmarked 1905 and addressed to my great grandma has turned up among the stuff my friend brought back from her deceased elderly friend's house clearance! No relation to us but how did my gt grandma's card end up with her! I have other cards, invoices etc sent to my gt grandma around that time so how did this one come adrift! The signature is not an ancestor I am aware of. I am trying to come up with a connection!

    Advice is welcome...
I work in a small team of 3 and every time the boss leaves the room, wither it be to go to the toilet, make a brew or go for lunch, my other colleague takes his foot off the gas, pulls his phone out his drawer and just chills out. As soon as he hears the boss coming back, he puts his phone away and gets back to work. Should I say something? Bear in mind I've only been here 2 months!

    .

No absolutely not Speky. Your life could well become hell after. Lets face it too you dont know what hes up to on his phone. Please be careful after 2 months I'm not sure you have the qudos to go there.....discuss with him for sure though but dont expect a good reception. Head down take care of you
