EDF hidden T&C's - Smart Meter

Can anyone help, I renewed with EDF last year for an online only account - which was what I wanted. And hidden in the t&c's there is a tiny paragraph that says that if EDF are in my area I have to agree to a Smart Meter!
I don't want a Smart Meter and have been told that will be £60 for me to change deals!
Can they actually get away with this?
Any advice greatly received - I've been an EDF customer for 5 years but I won't be after this!

Did you agree the terms of the contract?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
You've got me worried now. Where in the T&C's is that paragraph? Mine is 7 pages long in small print.0
