  • Thank you everyone for your comments. To tell you the truth I have had a very hard time since 2016 with wife in hospital and then going thru a miscarriage and then other part of the twin born at 26 weeks pregnancy with quiet a few complications, this is the last thing I wanted. I know there’s no excuse for it but it’s my mistake and now I’m just worried about consequences. Well I have already sent the form out with my details today and let’s hope
So there’s some positive news. Thanks everyone once again

When you sent off the form with your details nominating you as the driver was it your wife that filled it in and signed it, or you?

that is some speed awareness information from the dyfed powys police speed enforcement partner, it is posted for information only and if you google you should find the information relevant to your police force

the second link seems to suggest that speed awareness courses are between £80.00-£100.00 so similar to the fine of £100.00 but for the investment of the cost of course and half a day of your time you avoid taking the points

keep us posted as to what options they offer you

Go into it with an open mind, and you might well find it the most useful half-day you've invested in your driving since you passed your test...

As everyone has said, just go with it and learn your lesson. On top of everything else, it's just another knock, but bearable. Sounds like you have had a rough time lately - chin up.

My wife did one of these and she really enjoyed it and thought it well worth it - she even mentioned its good value for money!

Sorry chaps for the late response but I was really busy with my little one. Out of the 2 years of her age she’s spent 19 months in hospital so you can imagine my situation with a full time job and daily visits to the hospital. Anyways I must admit it was a very useful course, things like if someone hits you at 30 miles p/h speed, you have 63% chance of survival but if it goes to 31 miles; you just have 47% chance. And it did refresh my memory about a lot of signs and speeding limits, so all in all a good £90 investment and sense to think.
