    I was with NTL for phone line rental only (calls from onetel). I wanted broadband but told them that BT meant I could choose from more suppliers and therefore get a total lower cost.
    I was offered - 3 months free broadband then £17.99 for remainder of contract.
    I said no.
    Offer then changed to:
    12 Months free telephone line rental. £17.99 for broadband with first month free.
    However, now broadband is £9.99 for new customers for first 12 months I seem to be paying line rental at £10.50 and nothing else! Result! Free broadband for 12 months!!!

    I have NTL for phone and TV in some cheapish pacakge. Presumably this means that I am not elligible for their £9.99 Broadband package as I won't be a new customer. Any advise on how to rangle some kind of deal from them? Also (and this may seem a basic question), I presume I have to use NTL for broadband as all other providers seem to require a BT line.

    Can anyone advise?

    anna, the best advise for you is to phone and threaten to leave and see if they offer you a better package.

    If they don't or its not a good enough deal, go back and try again. Don't shilly, shally, tell them you are going to BT as you can get a better deal for your telephone and broadband, maybe have some figures to quote them, and hopefully you will be put through to retentions who will offer a deal good enough to keep you ;)

    Not sure if this is been posted before so here it is;

    NTL have an offer at the moment for 1MB broadband for ONLY £9.99 for 12 months. This is capped at 1GB per month but the NTL women said they will only begin to enforce this towards DEC 2005 time.

    This includes everthing (phone line, installation, NTL broadband cable box, connection).

    I think 1GB is pleanty for daily surfing if you are not a heavy downloader!!!
