ORBIS...what now...

So like a few others on here I went for the £100 matched investment and I know values can go up and down, probably as well like a few it was to get the matched amount...

Looking at the value today it’s down a fair bit, I haven’t missed the investment (and I know any investment advice on MSE is just us good people discussing money) but with the 29th March looming and market effects...would I be better just withdrawing now, does anyone envisage things going up in the future?
No two ways about this one: Anything Free is not a Basic Right..it had to be earned...by someone, somewhere

What fund/funds did you buy? Selling at a loss is a mistake people often make, but without knowing you circumstances no one can offer any advice.

If you only invested £100 and they matched £100 then the fund would need to drop 50% before you saw a loss. Our little £200 accounts are at £182 today so still £82 up. Still your valuation will depend on exactly when you invested and if you went for the Balanced or Global Equity funds (or a mix).

Remember there is a circa 5% fund distribution on each fund not showing in the current valuation due to be paid into the account by 28th Feb. They have put this message at the top of the account summary page.

Also remember the Orbis funds mostly invest overseas so if Brexit is a disaster the pound would be expected to devalue so the overseas assets will be worth more pounds.
