    This is true, it to say there will not be a correction in property and they will keep going up with no correction is what the perma prop bulls claim, and it’s pretty obvious they are wrong.
    Nothing has been fixed since 2008, it was just pushed into the future

    You are slightly correct, property will have the odd 10 to 15% falls/corrections over the decades, everyone knows that and it is not as if you have a monopoly in the predicting the obvious. But these falls are usually after 200, 300 or even 400% increases in value, and in some parts of the UK property has gone up more than ten fold. Good luck with this rare 10% drops, my guess is that you might get one in the next decade with odds of say 30% chabce at best.

    You have to wonder how sad and pathetic someone can be to invent a group of people and claim they've said property prices only ever go up just so you can pretend you were right and they were wrong! Delusional doesn't really cover it... :o

    You have to wonder how sad and pathetic someone can be to invent a group of people and claim they've said property prices only ever go up just so you can pretend you were right and they were wrong! Delusional doesn't really cover it... :o

    I don't think the perma prop bulls exist any more, I seem to remember a Dr Who episode which mentioned that they were allies of the Time Lords and were exterminated by the Daleks in the last great time war.

    The corrections only happened because people generally had less money available that they wanted to spend on houses. What didnt happen is that vast numbers of people who wanted to but could not afford to buy a house were suddenly able to.


    The price of housing will always adjust itself so that the number of people able and willing to pay the price approximately equals the number of houses available. What makes you believe that a house price fall will enable you to buy a house? Why will you be immune to the economic problems that must have affected everybody else?

    There seems to be a particular problem in Edinburgh.
    Does it only affect tourist towns, well more yes, but I’d suggest there is a wider knock on effect as those tenant move further our of town.

    We’ll have more tourists in London, bath, Salisbury and Edinburgh for sure if the £ falls.

    Edinburgh has the Fringe festival, which lasts about a month and results in huge demand for accommodation, meaning a single week let can bring in more than a months rent otherwise.

    So it's quite common for students to get 11-month tenancies from September to July, or residents to go on holiday for August and rent their flats out.

    Fringe/main festival nowhere near the chaos and numbers visiting it used to be IMO, they brought the venues into more central locations to hide this fact IMO, no way the city is booked out at this time of year nowadays.

    I can see big big taxes being levied on air bnb and any other other reason properties are not used for living in.

    The numbers of homeless are way above the reported

    The housing crisis is the worst it has ever been

    Roll on the 30% crash come no deal brexit
