Have ASDA stopped taking Amex?

    Ditto. And the card machines are the same as the ones in other shops that work fine contactless.

    The machine hardware may be the same/similar (as not that many people make them) but the software that runs on them is produced by the payment acceptance provider and that is custom to each.

    It's an ongoing known issue as others have said - some retailers systems and Amex contactless don't play well together.


    Just use the PIN if you get stuck...

    Always happens at Wilkinson's too!

    Go there quite a bit so have to faff with Chip & Pin.

    It used to be hit and miss in Tesco, too, until they updated the terminals for contactless Clubcards, then it seemed to behave itself.
