Leaving Virgin Media - Scared

I phoned to cancel as costing too much, 30 day notice active, never bothered to ring me offering me anything, joined Plusnet.
I'm on 38Mb, £25, been with them for 6 months, i stream TV as I have no aerial, Now TV, BBC I Player, ITV catch up, never had an issue with loading/buffering.0 -
I learned that I could get Broadband & phone at half the price from John Lewis, which would mean downgrading from 100Mb Fibre / Coax to 11Mb phone wire. However we only use catchup, which the BBC say is streamed at 5Mb. At this point VM offered to knock a couple of quid off.
I then saw that VM is offering new customers a similar price (half) of what we're paying so I phoned VM again to be told that Inbound disconnections don't have much discretion, but the Outbound team do.
I've asked to be Disconnected and have been given 30 days notice. I suspect we'll be bottom of the list for a call from the Outbound team as we're minimal users with no VM TV,
As pre-VM customers they manage our email too and research indicates they will continue to operate the email accounts for 90 days.
After further consideration we would feel more comfortable moving the email to new addresses before disconnection, so now plan to cancel the disconnection and leave VM later when the email is sorted out.
The question is, assuming we don't get a call from the retentions outbound team, how long have we got to withdraw our disconnection order. Is it 30 days or just 14? Thanks.0 -
30 days.
But cancel your cancellation after 10’days I guess if you hear nothing0 -

On the 30th day, I did it myself 2 years ago, no callback and had nothing lined up.
However last year still no callback, and just let it disconnect with no new provider set-up ready.0 -
Quick update:
Have changed my email on around 50 websites now... long slog. Monitoring incoming emails in my virgin inbox to see what else remains worth updating.
The best part so far is not receiving the tons of junk email I've been inundated with ever since that server switch Virgin did (no coincidence).
So although its a fair amount of effort, I'm sure it will defiitely be worth it in the longer run.
Best deal today for me appears to be the Sky Fibre Max (will avoid TalkTalk at all costs, never heard a good thing about them, and Plusnet screw me around with my son's SIM deal so that's a no also).
But probably give it another month to get the email address updates done.Friendly greeting!0
