Who pays for the energy?

As well as the energy companies - there could be separate ones for gas and electric if both utilities are supplied - you should also contact the council and water company yourself and tell them the date you moved in, don't rely on someone to tell them maybe a month later or never, do it yourself and save a load of potential grief and hassle down the line.
Don't forget to read each and every meter and give the suppliers the readings.0 -
Have you taken out contents insurance ?Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0

I am under the impression that EDF contacts Enstroga and then I receive some sort of bill directed at the occupier in the post?0

I have sorted the council tax and WIFI, I still have to contact Bristol Water which I will do now again I am under the impression the water company will send a bill to me addressed to the occupier. On BW website it states that the first bill is sent with this 'code' which then activates an online account to pay water and sewerage?0

You should receive a bill addressed directly to you, as you should have already set up an account in your name with Enstroga the day the tenancy started when you provided them with your move-in readings.jason15300 wrote: »I am under the impression that EDF contacts Enstroga and then I receive some sort of bill directed at the occupier in the post?0 -
Why wait? Just contact them now yourself.jason15300 wrote: »I still have to contact Bristol Water which I will do now again I am under the impression the water company will send a bill to me addressed to the occupier
I'm presuming you also took readings of the water meter the day your tenancy started?0 -
Make sure you hold onto those photos of the meter readings (gas, leccy, water) from when you moved in. When informing everyone (including council) confirm what is said over 'phone by email or letter.
Ditto when you eventually leave.0
