Advirtising paypal, but won't accept?
Comments

Most of the positives are from people who have mutualed the transaction because he doesn't take paypal, yet advirtises he does. Most of the negs and neutrals are also from him not accepting paypal. Looking at the true feedback, there's not that much.
605 happy buyers, 11 unhappy ones, and from what I can see most didn't pay - see deadbeat buyers.0 -
Nothing wrong with this seller at all. If it wasn't for all the non payers who left negs he would have 100% feedback.
It seems everyone who doesn't take paypal now days are classed as a scammer.
I don't take paypal on my listings any more due to been messed around by paypal one to many times now. There has been a number of times when i've sold stuff and paypal limit my account asking for all sorts of info time and time again.
If he had 0 feedback then yeah i could see why you'd think his a scammer but over 500? you worry to much.0 -
No one is forced to sell on ebay however if people choose to sell on ebay then they should abide by the rules. This seller is being both naive and foolish, he is selling in an area where paypal is required as a payment option and is breaching the rules by showing he accepts it but actually refusing to do so.
He has proved by trying to be clever with the rules that he is untrustworthy, if he is prepared to break one set of rules what is to stop him breaking others as well..and that's what makes him unreliable. He is now borderline losing power seller status and his account is in serious jeopardy, another reason to avoid him. Once his aco!!!! is suspended, and it will be, buyers using bank transfers will have no protection at all.
Personally I care too much for my money to throw it away on potentially dodgy sellers. if he doesn't like the rules then it is easy, stop using ebay...I'm sure ebid would welcome his account.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thanks Soolin, I was sure you couldn't do that, yet people (not just here) are making me out to be the bad person just by stating it. Shame really, he's selling quite a bit at reasonable prices - i'm not willing to risk it however with no protection, i've had enough hassle from non paypal buyers/sellers to last me a while~*Cerenia*~

Cerenia his prices are reasonable because most bidders will be put off bidding the same as I am. That's why i consider him foolish, if he can get his paypal account sorted and sell legitimately he will increase his profits even after paying paypal fees.
The fact that he suddenly appears to have lost his paypal account due to problems, as per the feedback rather suggests that he has at least one claim against him that is unresolved. If that is for non receipt of item, which is of course possible, then it would be even more reason to not pay by bank transfer.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. In the past, i've been fine with small things (ie less than a tenner) if it wasn't paypal, then as I got more confident, I built up, but I got scammed quite a few times, so thus I only use paypal now, and the fraud is a lot less for me, so I stick to something with some protection, rather than something with none. Not to say there are a lot of honest non-paypal seller on there, but after being stung, I'm naturally edgy about it.~*Cerenia*~

The protection only existing with paypal is a bit of an urban legend.
If you send a cheque or a postal order you have a bricks and morter address to play with if things go wrong.
If you pay with paypal you might end up with a throwaway hotmail or yahoo email addy to pursue.
Given the choice of leaving a trail leading back to their house, or a trail leading back to a disposable email addy, which option will most scammers take?
Given that ebay own paypal and get another 4% (?) on top of their (already some might say inflated) fees, can you see why ebay like people to believe that paypal is the only safe way to pay?0 -
Everyone just nod and smile, nod and smile...My TV is broken!
