Water bills (lack of)

I moved into a property in May 2018 and since then haven't received a water bill as my property is a new build and they haven't been able to figure out how much water each flat is using!!

I'm moving out soon, and wondered if I'll be liable for water used when I leave even though they haven't presented me with a bill. A bit concerned it'll add up to a rather large unplanned expense.

Anyone got the same experience?

You will certainly be liable for the water you used.
If you knew about it, the ideal thing to have done is to have put some money away each month.

Presumably there are meters to the property.
Take readings. Presumably they started at zero
