There's been a number of snow flurries here, nothing major yet. Colleagues in Oban have not been so lucky, one building has no electricity or water whilst another is being closed early because of the snow.

Meanwhile...I've done nothing much! The woodburner and chair are so beguiling. :o

I hope everyone is safe and warm.
  • Well I spoke too soon when I said we had no snow when I posted this morning! Within minutes down it came and I couldn't believe how quickly everywhere got covered! As soon as it stopped snowing, however, it started to disappear as fast as it came. By bus time it had almost gone so my meet up with my friend went ahead as planned. But by heck it's cold or am I getting soft in my old age?

SNOOZER I hope you both have a better night and STEVE gets some benefit from the anti-sickness pills. Bob's cancer wasn't the type that would respond to chemo so he never had to go through it.

SILVER-OLDIE my heart goes out to you. I am so lucky as both my DD and DS live quite near me in the same village so I see them and my DGDs regularly. One lives down one hill and one down the other! When DS was with the psycho (long standing posters may remember her!) we didn't see nearly enough of him and it turned out she resented any time he spent with us or his friends. I could still have nightmares about her and what he, and we, had to put up with. Shudder shudder!

Take care if you are out and about in this nasty weather xx

DS lives about 15 miles from us but DiL's parents live 2 minutes walk away. Seems they can visit her family. Maybe they think I might ask for help. I just want to cry, I find it so hurtful.
If you walk at night no-one will see you cry.
  • I don't wonder you are hurt SILVER-OLDIE. I don't know what the answer is but I wish your DS could be made to realise just how much this is upsetting you. xx

Redruby isn't there a health and safety at work act that says something about heat regs ? You shouldn't have to work without heating for weeks, especially during the winter months. Apologies

Unbelievably there is no actual law about heating the workplace its recommended that it sould be at least 13 deg, that would be luxury for us :( the thing is I work with people with learning difficulties and they are really struggling in the cold, there is a new building which most of the staff are in which is toasty and warm  unfortunately we are in the old building which is freezing !! I have a meeting tomorrow so will bring it up then (again !! ) and you don't have to apologise for anything you are saying exactly whats on my mind !!

Snoozer hugs to Steve hope his treatment helps xx

SO I feel so sorry for you, have you told your son how upsetting it is to you ? big hugs xx

Whilst there's only been short intense flurries of snow where I live it appears that road in and out of the town were not so snow free. The Rest was closed for a while and the humpback bridge in Inverary had cars stuck on it.

The temperature is rising though it's going to fall overnight, and rain is forecast for tomorrow. I've completely 'wasted' my day by sitting in front of the fire for most of it apart from an hour doing something for my one day a month job. :rotfl:

I've eaten the last portion of the cauliflower cheese, must find something else to make for next week. My tendency to eat the same thing each day is something I need to stop.

My DM has had an avalanche of appointment letters from various departments of the NHS via the medicine for the elderly area. On Monday the social work department is sending someone to discuss possible aids or adaptions to help her with hearing problems. I doubt there is anything as she already has flashing lights attached to her intercom system and, even with a telephone from Action for Hearing, can't use the phone. I will be happy to be wrong.

Now I want to watch a couple of catch up programmes.

SO - my heart goes out to you too. Sorry it's not much help.
