    he is a motor dealer , he gave you a receipt with garage info , or his own private house?

    Maybe £0 tax, but the fine for failing to notify change if keeper is the same, whether the tax is free or £600.

    Showing insured, your insurer may take a while to remove your policy.

    Your responsibility to notify the DVLA.
