So you have done really well then, and continue to do so.  Don't be so hard on yourself 😘

    Edited because autocorrect 🙄
    Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000
    Mortgage today = £161,690.76
    300 271 payments to go.
    House buyout fund £21,000/£40,000
  • Thanks both, that’s very kind. And I was too self-absorbed to thank you on what you said about your mortgage goals and milestones GAP, it makes so much sense to take that approach! It’s what I did when paying off the debt but hadn’t considered it for the mortgage.

Anyway, I phoned up today and increased my monthly mortgage payment to take up the slack in my budget that has been going on wants spending over and above the amount I’ve given myself for wants. I will also consider making a scary move over to MFW 😬😂
Debt at LBM (Dec 2018): £23,167
    Debt free Feb 2021

You're not self-absorbed, you're just in your own wee world trying to do the best you can, just like the rest of us.  I'm slightly envious that you have taken the next step.  I have to wait a bit longer before I can work out my routine.  Keep going!

  • GAP I have absolutely no doubt that you’ll lap me before long, you’re so dedicated and focused. And also much less likely to spend all your free money on books and jumpers!

mmm - money on books and jumpers  :)
  • Have also just realised that the amount I’m now paying to my mortgage per month is the amount I’m hoping to pay to a new mortgage if I ever manage to move. So that bodes well in getting me used to it!
