DPD lost parcel. Next won’t refund me until investigation complete?

Wondering what my rights are here. A bit annoyed.
I bought a pushchair off Next for £750. It was to be delivered by DPD. Didn’t turn up, so I contact d dpd and it turns out it had gone missing in a depot.
I rang Next straight away and gave them all the details, including the missing parcel case reference number. They apologised and sent a replacement out. Got the replacement no problems, only to log into my Next account and see I had been charg d on my credit account for both pushchairs! Putting me over my credit limit.
I contacted Next to be told it will be adjusted in a day or so. It didn’t, and then my new statement has come with a vey high minimum payment on it. Called Next again, and was told that DPD are still investigating the missing parcel, and it should be sorted soon.
So now I am stuck with this high payment this month and awaiting them to complete their investigation with DPD.
Surely, as I have proof i never got the first pushchair, I shouldn’t have to wait for this investigation?
What are my rights here. I’m feeling fobbed off.

Call your credit card company and advise them of what has happened and ask if they would put the first payment on hold.
Provided that there is an ongoing investigation by Next, they should be willing to do this.0 -
Are you planning on coming back to this thread with more info or just leaving it like the last one?0

I don't think the OP paid with a credit card . It is her credit account with next she is referring to.0 -
No I paid for it on my credit account.
Not sure what you are waffling on about, Katrina?0 -

People actually take time out to look at previous posts, rather than answer with anything helpful?0

People actually take from the forum rather than giving anything back?0 -
I'm assuming the credit account is with Next.
Contact them, and tell them that you wish to make a formal complaint. They should not have double charged you, and they should have corrected the mistake immediately it was discovered.
Since it's a credit agreement, if they do not offer you a satisfactory response within 8 weeks, or if they tell you earlier than that they can't resolve the complaint, then you can go to the financial ombudsman.
Those times scales are very long, but those are the rules. But at least a formal complaint may force them to take notice of the problem. If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -

Forum etiquette is that you actually post back the end result to help other people who have the same issue - instead of being take take take.
You wouldn't go about daily life taking without giving back (or maybe you would?) so don't do the same here.
It's just manners and common courtesy, I can't believe the concept needs to be explained and I really can't believe you have the gall to moan at someone asking for an update to a thread in which YOU asked for help.0 -
As you've just updated the other thread, i'm presuming you'll update this one in three months time when you're next looking for advice!0
