Could it be a case of:
Q: When is a default not a default?
    A: When it's settled

Have you any idea yourself when it dates to?

Water companies seem to have come to the reporting business quite late, and I've seen people refer to them giving dates from the point they started reporting. Is it possible your account pre-dates 5/3/13?

They do indeed seem to have a habit of dating defaults from the date they started reporting rather than the correct date of default.

I currently have a case with the ombudsman as I believe that they are reporting incorrectly on my credit report

It looks like it was first reported 60 months ago
  • You need to confirm the default date.

Basically the same time it says account opened.
  • It won’t be that.
You need to contact them and ask maybe.

But that would count as acknowledging the debt

I rang CRA and asked what the default date was and according to them it was the same date the dept was sold to whoever because they are not listed but continue to do updates. This all dont sound right to me and the cra are going to enquire in to it
