Gold Soveriegns

I want to start buying some gold Sovereigns for my two grand children instead of giving them cash for birthdays etc. I have purchased other investment stocks shares etc. I am a little worried about how to go about purchasing Sovereign's.
I have checked a number of sites a full sovereign seems to be about £260 but there are lots of different prices. Can help by pointing me in the right direction
Many thanks

The expensive ones will be collectors' ones, rather than bullion ones. You can also get half-sovereigns (and I believe other denominations)

is a very informative websiteI consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0 -

I use Hatton Garden metals and Atkinsons mainly from the list above.
When comparing pricing dont forget to factor in postage as some add it to the cart and others include it in the quoted price.0 -

Atkinsons have a shop in Sutton Coldfield.
Worked up that way (Walsall) for 2 years on a project staying in Moor Hotel. When the price of gold went up after the Brexit vote I sold some in the store.0 -
this is not what you asked, but ...
do your grandchildren currently spend the cash you give them? and are you expecting them to keep the gold sovereigns? because if the answers are yes & yes, they may not be very happy about it.0 -
The Asian parts of most British cities feature gold shops, they often sell sovereigns/Britannias etc0

A Junior ISA is likely to be a much better idea.0 -

I would have hoped that a reputable dealer would have taken the time to read up on the forum rules for posting on behalf of a company before actually posting.
For good reason, companies can't post until given permission to do so as for all anyone knows, the phone number given could belong to a scammer and when someone calls it, they are given a very good price for gold coins provided that they buy quickly and pay with a bank transfer and never see their coins or money again. (I'm not implying that is the case here) and advertising of products that you sell is not allowed either.0 -
Ok sorry for posting. Just thought the information we have and share (free of charge and no obligation to buy) can help people reach a decision on the right sovereign to buy. Anyone is free to buy from any dealer or individual they want. We are a very honest company but as its against forum rules to contribute I will await until we are approved. Not sure how to do that though.......0
