  • Morning All
A late one from me have been very tired this week in bed most nights by 9
but Mon to Fri I'm up at 4 so staying in bed until I.30 was my treat
Brr it's cold but no snow here in Kent beautiful sunrise this morning I wonder if that is the shepherds warning!

DH on nights all weekend so he will most of the day leaves at 4 and will be back about 6.00am tomorrow
That means I get the remote control to myself and no snoring for 2 nights bliss :T

Plans for the day are weekly shop and trying to get my house straight. There are many of you on here who put me to shame with housework but I must try and drum up the enthusiasm plus it will help keep me warm

Well done Dumpling lovely to hear how determined you are.
OL I think you have the patience of a saint and that you are a lovely lady who cares deeply for your family
I love hearing how some of you cope with elderly family members, my DMIL lived with us until this time last year She has dementia and is a lot happier in her home. My DH takes her out most days when he is off shift she is looking forward to the summer as she likes going out with him in a buggy when he plays golf:D
Hoping to visit DDad this week in Norfolk but it depends if either of us get snow eyes peeled on the forecast

I read every day on my way to and from work and you are my first port of call at the weekend , it is lovely keeping up with everyone's lives both good and bad. It makes me realise we should be grateful for whatever we have and make the most of it

Ok essay over just want to send hugs for this who want/ need and wish everyone a lovely weekend

  • Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.......SO you have my sympathy......

We were late leaving my friends yesterday, lucky to get home whilst it was just still light. I must ring her and see if she managed to print off her patterns. She has got me going, thinking about knitting a soft doll for GGD, she is starting to take notice of things, lifting her head up etc.

Very cold here this morning, not sure if we had a frost, we did not get up until 9am. I need to do a load of white washing OH will run out of vests soon.

Nothing else planned except to carry on cutting the plain blocks for the quilt and then tackle the side and corner blocks, funny measurements so will have to concentrate when I am doing those. I do not want to have to trim the sides.

I have taken some lamb out of the freezer will do veggies with it, we have a couple of individual sponge puddings in the fridge, will do those for dessert.

TA be careful especially if the snow has frozen and its then snoed again. Thats lethal.
  • OH back with shopping, don't know what they are having but he has bought fish for me so I'm happy.

    Blimey it is parky hereabouts!
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back

Been up a while pottering round putting washing on etc, need to go shopping today and want to get something nice for dinner tonight OH would love the mussels nels but I'm not so keen.

Would like to but some stewing beef and lamb and make up some batches of casserole for the freezer its so easy after work to just shove one in the oven.

We have swapped out internet and phone provider over to John Lewis who so far have been very good, so this afternoon I shall watch a film on Netflix (which I have not been able to do for a while as the internet was so bad) with the fire on and have a lazy afternoon !!

Dumpling well done on your weight loss xx

Candy how is zeus doing ?

TA have you thought of an audio book ? you could have it playing quietly in the background if you wake in the night xx

    Have good days all xx

It's absolutely persisting down here, but I suppose I should be grateful that it's not snow .
We are having a "doing nothing day" as we seem to have been going a million miles an hour every day this week. There is nothing that can't wait till next week anyway. So it will be film watching, tinternet browsing and gaming :j. There is also a chocolate orange with my name on it for this afternoon:D. Well it was given to me as a xmas pressie but I suppose I'll share with Mr Fix It as we have been quite good with our diets this week.
I don't know what DD will do next after the yesterdays shock revelation, possibly a written complaint to start. No wonder she has been getting nowhere fast :wall:.

Tea tonight will be something from the freezer, I'm sure I spotted some leftover cottage pie in there . I'll have to have a root around.
Hope everyone has a good Saturday.
Take care and hugs to anyone who needs/wants one.
    Nan xx

Morning all! Yesterday I did about an hours wrth o jobsn the front garden [ removing od stuff, wheebarrwing the god ccompost onto it] and of course I totally overdid it and slept for three hours after, but I have to get on and do this now because after the op I'll never be able to do it again, which I am not very happy about but there's nothing I can do about that. Well, I could choose not to have the op and die I supose as a worst case scenario, but that's not going to be a choice :)
Meeting friends for lunch, will take a container with me a la Nelski to take home what I don't eat and I'll take them some scones. Then it's trim the massive rosemary bush and put the trimmings on the bare areas of compost to stop the cats from !!!!ping on it. I'll start relayering the compost heap from the builders bag to test my theory about ash and fir tree droppings today or tomorrow.I might even get the shredder out to shred everything down so there's not so much turning involved over the summer [ which the OH wil have to do so best not make it too strenuous]

Got a visual disturbance migraine at the moment so typing and reading is..entertaining?

Unsurprsingly, I'm voting for rest of the day off too Nelski :) red ruby beat me to it TA, I was going to suggest the same thing. Or maybe one of those handheld computer jobbies with brain training or sudoku or something. Good for you dumpling, stay away from burned biscuits! AOD, I also have shoulders bigger than most men I know, I could have been an olympic swimmer if I'd had any interest in it. However, i enjoy them now [ after years when growing up of wanting to be waif and stray like] and no one has ever tried to intimidate me thanks mostly to them and my height. In fact, most people are usually scared when they meet me first, o so I have been told, so when I get totally curmudgeon like when I'm older, I won't have to talk to anyone I don't want to :) Happy Burns night to anyone who was there too, shame about the haggis WeeMidgie...Take care out there and stay in if it's snowing...Wotcha poppy, Holly..
Plase tick option 1 for a fab Saturday doing what you like, or option 2 for a wild and exciting time. No other options are available at this time....

Morning all ( well it still is while I'm posting :))
DGC have gone to a party so all is fairly quiet here. We're going to a party too - a surprise 50th tonight at the nearest pub, only a 10 min walk. It's DBs best mate & his sister was a good friend of ours years ago. Then she got divorced and moved and we moved too so dont catch up very often.I hear there will be pasties later, mind you Birthday boy will be starving,he thinks he's going out for a meal! :rotfl:
We had snow too yesterday lunchtime and again last night.DGD was excited to think they could play in it today but its all gone.
Got my sewing machine and overlocker ( hate that thing its so tempramental ) out & made a top but it's not quite right so I'll sort that shortly .Used some material I already had in. Also altered 2 tops I got online, I think they were from China, but they were so baggy they were unwearable. Be ok for summer during the day now ;)
Dumpling, dont be swayed by welded biscuits :D,you are doing so well and hopefully you'll soon feel a lot more comfortable :T
Enjoy your mussels Nelski-James will miss you this morning :)
Hugs to Holly Poppy and Taff, and anyone under the weather today xx

    Morning all.

Silver-oldie if your Mother doesn't do much with her arms she will lose muscle tone. It's safe to say if she can read a newspaper or magazine or lift a drink to her mouth she's having you on...Well that was my experience with Mom anyway.

I think she just wants attention, they need to make sure she eats so she's guaranteed help with feeding.
If you walk at night no-one will see you cry.

On a Saturday afternoon? No chance, absolutely not! If I ever go it's first thing on a weekday morning as soon as they open so I can make a quick getaway :rotfl:
