The driver parked in a disabled bay at an Asda near my mums and the blue badge fell into the foot well when we got out and We didn’t notice till We came out and We had got a ticket. The car is a registered motability car. How can We appeal the ticket? have tried to use ukcp website to appeal but it keeps saying error occurred. Help!!

Edit your post to remove information about who did what. Only ever refer to The Driver and The Keeper, who are two different people. ;)
The Keeper has protections in law that the driver does not.

Assuming this was a windscreen ticket and the alleged event only took place recently, you are appealing too soon.
What is the date of the NTD please (the date of the alleged event)?
You should appeal around day 26 after reading the sticky thread for NEWBIES using the blue text template you will find there.

What happened when you complained to the sore manager or CEO?

Please complain to your MP about this unregulated scam.

by the way you havent received a fine, what paring companny is this?

something like this should set things up nicely especialy should you wish to complain to the supermarket/landowner

    to the PPC: Re PCN#####

on date the vhicle was parked in a disabled bay as one of the ocupants has <DSCRIPTION OF DISABILITY THAT AFFECTS MOBILITY>
At the time of parking a blue badge (confirming that an ocupant had a protected characterisic under the equalities act) had fallen onto the floor of the vehicle and whoever was patroling the car park at the time failed to notice this.
As you have now been informed that an ocupant of the vehicle had a protected characteristic under the equalities act, and been provided with evidence of such, you must now cancel the parking charge with immediate effect.
I trust I have your co-operation on this matter and look forward to a timely response from you confirming this.
    Yours ( name )

Wait for the response, odds on it will be turned down

which will set things up for the next stage, and will strentghen your hand.

Or you could tell the PPC this

Dear parking company, on <DATE> the vehicle was parked at <store location> in a diasbled bay, where a blue badge was displayed.
unfortunatly there are a few poorly behaved imps that reside in the glove box, and while the vehicle was parked the cheeky naughty imps left the glove box and must have played hide and seek with the blue badge.
I have tried traing the imps not to play wth such things, but such is their nature this is proving to be difficult.
I hope you understand, and I also hope that you are not troubled by cheeky mischevous imps, and as such will cancel the parking charge, or issue forth a POPLA code.

First, correct and confirm the identity of the scammers. Then check everything you put into the online appeal portal is correct.

Watch out for any drop down box that defaults to Driver. Always select Keeper.
If you click or scroll anywhere else in the page after selecting Keeper, it will default back to Driver so triple check and check again before you take a screenshot and hit submit having checked Keeper is still selected.

If there is still an error, The Keeper should complain to the BPA.

as its UKPC, do as fruitcake advises above ^^^^^^^^

blue text appeal as keeper on day 25 following the incident

meanwhile , try and get the retailer to cancel it, due to it being a BB issue under the EA2010

Please note that if it is UKPC, they were caught doctoring time stamps on their photo' evidence a while back.
It is possible that a person or persons unknown did bounce u and down on the car with malice aforethought causing the BB to fall on the floor.

  • Sorry I have not been on here. Only just been informed that I had asked you guys for help before. I emailed Asda back in 2019 but had no reply and have had nothing since but today got a letter from debt recovery plus saying I have to pay 145 pounds for the parking charge from 2018 from U.K. parking control ltd.
what can I do to appeal this as I haven’t got the email I sent to Asda anymore as it was so long ago.
    Thanks guys xx

If you read the NEWBIE sticky to refresh your knowledge, you will see what to do about debt collector letters.

If UKPC do not cancel, and it gets to court, you can counter claiin for sisabled discrimination, against the scammer, and the landowner.  I am sure that ASDA would hate that.  Read this

    and this

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP., it can cause the scammer extra costs and work, and in some cases, cancellation.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, and an independent appeals service will be set up,

opefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.
