You were right to change the locks.
Perhaps they used a house clearance company but neglected to tell them what could and couldn't be removed.0 -
as they were Powers of attorney
Then your claim must be met from the assets of the donor who was the owner of the property and for whom they were selling.
Raise the matter formally with your solicitor and make a claim through the small claims court if necessary?0 -

I didn't think house clearance companies would remove fitted wardrobes. If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -

I have moved 17 times personally and this is the third in 4 years,
I am amazed at how stupid I was when dealing with my own very emotive move.
I think because it wasn't just a house move this time I was going home after being away for a few years from family I forget the basics whilst trying to deal with un motivated sellers
I have dismissed a lot as no hope of getting anywhere with it, but the wardrobes pushed me over the edge0 -

Just as a back story , this is a very old house that most things have gone by the way side, but to give an example at some point in the last 18 months a Neff range cooker was installed and subsequently removed ( it did state on the F & F's it wasn't inc) . Neff extractor hood , the fitted wardrobes were not standard so made to measure so carefully removed even though they stated they were staying.
What we think has happened is some family member ( not off spring as she didn't have any) has installed these "removable "items knowing full well they won't be used and so rich pickings for family member
On completion PA's (niece and nephew who are in their 70's ) has asked said family member to clear the house and this is what they've done
No I don't like the robes much but they were made to measure and under a year old, and would have helped as this is a modernisation project.
I just hate that they thought it OK to walk in and strip ... so I'm on a mission :rotfl:0 -
If they did then I'm sure the onus would still be on the vendors PA as they would have had to instruct them to removeNaughtiusMaximus wrote: »Perhaps they used a house clearance company but neglected to tell them what could and couldn't be removed.
I will update on the saga as soon as I can
I hate people who try and pull a fast one0 -
Fitted wardrobes are usually both hideous and made of sawdust-and-glue anyway, so they've done you a favour...0

well yes in a way but I was hoping to have somewhere to throw my clothes rather than on the floor as it's a bit minging
I wouldn't have cared if they weren't inc but more down to principle .. I'm probably just tired and grumpy but you know if I'd done the same they'd be down on me like a tonne of bricks
They could have removed rubbish at the same time , mind you I do have a very nearly new Neff oven extractor fan, just a shame the walls are possibly going to fall down :rotfl:0
