Sorry that income is not where you need it to be right now. Hope you find the right deal for your investment in a site(s) and avoid over-stretching yourselves.

Hope you get to go to the art festival.

  • Thanks, Savings. I did get to the festival and happily paid 5.00 a ticket. The booths were fun. Beautiful pottery and art glass. Plants too but I controlled myself. A sterling silver jewelry booth caught my eye and I wrestled with myself as I love adding to my jewelry collection. I picked a bracelet for 49.00. I was happy that I didn't spend a lot but did support a small business/local jewelry artist. Also found a booth selling gluten-free, dairy-free and even sugar-free baked goods. Yes I found the unicorn. I was so happy and picked the cupcakes and enjoyed one this morning with my coffee. It was hot but I was so glad to have made it after almost a year of being so sick. The live music was fun and the only woman in the band played the fiddle like nobody's business. I was in awe of how easy she made it look. Overall a fun day.

  • Mortgage payment made. I've breached the 10ks. $10,720.00 balance. My heart beats faster typing this. It's becoming so real now.

The search for lots continues. One owner did not want to sell so we are going to see some more today. A lot of them are wooded so I want to make sure clearing them wouldn't break the budget before we even got started. There's plenty to see and I'm not in a rush as I want our first project to go as smoothly as a construction project can.

The big job we were hoping for has come thru if we can get a master license to pull a permit for us. We have a journeyman license only. He might charge north of 500.00 which I was not expecting. We charge 300.00 for ours so time to madly tap the calculator again to make sure we can get a decent profit off of this job. My work never ends I guess.

Time to do a quick stretch and then get some work done.

Great news on winning the work - hope you sort the permit okay.

Good luck with the lot search.

Well done for getting in the 10s especially with the uneven pay checks recently.

  • Back on track (for now). We offered on a lot pending survey results that was accepted. Now getting quotes on building. Our preferred carpenter said 40-50k just for the framing. So we will have to get other quotes though we would love to use him as his work is excellent.

An OP of 20.00 has my mortgage at 10,695.00. I was able to pay 3 more medical bills for myself and will continue to pay on Mr. LoMs as well. Poor thing has come home every day this week in pain. He needs to go back to the pain clinic for another injection. We really need this build to happen and to go right. He just can't keep killing himself like this.

In other spending, QVC had one of those blanket wraps with pockets for 25.00 and the navy looked stunning. I got it for my best girlfriend who loves wrapping herself in something warm at home. I hope she likes it. 8.00 treat for myself, a tiny autumn folk art print from Etsy. It should look so cute with my plants. That's it. No more spending. I have my bath remodel balance down to 2500.00. My next goal is to get it to 2000.00. I grilled up our own burgers for lunch. Tmrw Mr. LoM is busy all day and I will have the day to myself. I'll have to fight not to go pick up a plant or 3. Instead I can focus on stretching, reading and music and can find something to eat at home. I already baked a Paleo pumpkin pie which was divine and even better as Mr. LoM hates pumpkin so all for me 😁. Electric fireplace is on, I have my cabin socks and my hooded sweater as it's cold and wet this weekend after Spring-like temps all week. Time to read my books. Enjoy your weekend all.

  • That GF DF Sugar free cookie sounds insane - life goals indeed!
    Nice bringing down the mortgage.

Your evening sounds cosy - I am also in the States at the moment and its bikini warm in the day then temperature just dives to cold as the sun sets..

Have you tried  red  and near infrared led lights on MrLOM? They can really help with arthritis, joint pain and swiften healing - you can buy for the home big pads of them to lay over pain areas or things that look like a big belt that fasten round your body.

No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.    Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

  • Thanks for the suggestion @LadyWithAPlan. I will see what Amazon has to say. Anything that could help would be great for him.

Thanks, Savings. It's right at the budget, even trying to build a simple starter home with the FTHB in mind and it will still come close to 130-135k all in. I'm nervous but itm I've come upon some good deals for things we will need for the build later like appliances and flooring. I'm choosing bamboo floors as that's what we have and it's a nice step between laminate floors and hardwoods. I can get the microwave, oven and dishwasher for 1100.00 now due to their Black Friday sales plus 3-4% cashback. The bamboo floors are on clearance for 2.00 a sq ft which is fantastic as I budgeted 3.50 a sq ft. But my office, aka the disaster zone is already in such a state and that's the only place we could store stuff. I'm sure it'll be interesting trying to crawl over a stove and 1200 sq ft worth of flooring pckgs to get to work. We will see. I don't want to miss out on savings because of space so I'll make something work.

My next payment to the mortgage will be the official payment for December and then I will do another lump sum of anywhere from 1500.00-2500.00. This year is closing fast and it looks I may only owe another 2100.00 at the end of the year which I will pay with my I-Bonds. After all is said and done I should have a paid off house and 8k in savings! That suits me fine as I don't like having less than 10k in savings and it should be easy to replenish that once the mortgage is gone.

6 week post op follow up with my gyno this Friday. Hoping I can get back to weight training and core work. Itm I've been walking and doing light upper body exercises and feel so much better than before.

  • TEMU app is where I have been buying the brilliant  led face masks - no issues and they have all been delivered and work well and prob much  cheaper. They have a belt type led light pad and a large patch one ...

Just go to temu and search for light therapy
You want the best ones with near infrared (NIR) as well as Red Led - just google the healing and benefits of the two on arthritus - backed by science.

I bought my mum a face mask with NIR and red (plus other colours) and she has been laying it on her hands that get arthritic and painful and she says its helping

    brilliant mews on your OPs
