Chalk it up to experience?? The seller put the wrong value on the customs form. More than I paid.

I should just chalk that up to experience and pay more than I should be?

Depends whether you want to gamble losing the full amount or not.

I'm unsure why you posted here tbh. You decided from the off what you were doing and your posts are just getting more aggressive.

See you in a couple of months under a new username asking for help to get your refund from an overseas company then.

Laws? huh? If you don't receive something.... you get a refund... lol
After you've popped round to the small claims court in Shenzhen, maybe.

Why would Gearbest refund the shipping costs when it was the customer that refused delivery?

At best I can see them cancelling the order on receipt of the phone, then refunding minus shipping costs and minus admin costs.

And there's a significant chance that the OP ends up with no phone and no refund.

In reality, we will likely see a post in the next 7-14 days from the OP along the lines of:

"They refunded the phone in full + *gloating*"

Will be a fairly decent chance that it will be a blag though.

    7-14 days??

Normally it happens in unrealistic super-fast time, so my money would be on tomorrow, with the added "they refunded me in full and gave me £50, a bunch of flowers and a big mac for the inconvenience"

I too have no doubt the OP will likely return to "gloat" that the responders here were wrong and a full refund was received without issue from this foreign seller.

Has no-one here bothered to look on the retailer's website?

They have a cancellation policy: https://uk.gearbest.com/about/terms-and-conditions.html

Provided the OP requests a RMA number, they'll get a full refund.

They also have this condition in their T&Cs

Should the buyer refuse the package due to import duties or taxes, the buyer takes full liability for all the costs involved in the process.

I suspect it won't be a clear case of a full refund.
