Having joined Cheap energy club a few months ago looking to make some savings from my NPOWER supplier.
I asked for all the information ie, What tariff I am on,how much K/W usage etc... I was at the time paying £135pm for both Gas and Electric.
With a quote through the club it went down to £101 p/m and I thought Great saving £30 p/m on a duel fuel broker tariff. However I ONLY GOT 1 MONTH of saving they then put up my D/D to £120 as they said I'm not paying enough NOW they have just put it up to £137 p/m so BACK to its original Bill amount.
Anyone else joined and NOT go what they signed up to from this.??
I welcome Cheap energy club to review my BILLS..

NPower isn't always the cheapest provider so you may do better to look at other options anyway.
In any event the direct debit amount may or may not reflect what you use; you need to be providing meter readings regularly to NPower and then your bill will tell you exactly how much you're using and you'll have a better idea of whether your direct debit is too high.
If you're paying £135 a month you're either a very high user (by choice or property) or your bills are being estimated.0 -
It is not a scam, but there are better price comparison sites around. Also its priority is to make money for itself. If was, for example, recently promoting switching to Bulb for up to £50 cashback, but customers could have gained £100 by using a referral link.0

I too have had a bad experience using the Energy Club and ended up going with Greenstar Energy to get away from the big 6 and also because after entering all my details it came out that Greenstar was the best deal for me. I had terrible service from them and it ended up costing me more than if I was on a premium rate with British Gas. I've never paid so much for duel fuel in my 25 years of living in London than I did when I ended up going through the Energy Club. Feels like a scam to me and I would advise anyone to stay away from Greenstar energy as they're a rip off with terrible customer service.0

Odd that you paid so much .
That can only be from a higher tariff or extra usage .
Or failure to understand the OFCOM rules on price comparisons .0 -

Take a years bills and the opening reading from the first bill and the final reading from the last bill. The difference between the two is what you used in that 12 month period.
Get your latest daily charge an prices per Kwh from the latest bill. If you have to work out the Kwh by multiplying and dividing work it out on the total difference between the first and last bill e.g. first bill 1000 and the last bill, 12 month period, 4500, giving a yearly read of 3500 if kwh just multiply that figure by the pence per kwh.
Do the same for both, a smart meter might read electric in kwh and gas old school. Then add the daily charge by 365 and multiply by two to give the charge for both gas and electric.
Add the gas, electric and daily charge total together that will give you the total minus the VAT. If using a calculator hit plus then 5 then the percentage button then equals that will give you the total of gas and electric used over 12 months at the present rates. To work out the monthly amount divide by 12 and that should be your monthly direct debit.Someone please tell me what money is0 -
CEC is not a scam, it is a comparison site with the benefit of alerts advising if cheaper tariff becomes available. I have had alerts and then carried out switch via other comparison sites which offered greater cashback incentives, so quite happy with the service.
Like all sites it best serves if you have accurate annual kWh consumption figures to compare against.
It is your choice which provider you then choose to use.0 -

This all rather odd - just wondering if this is the classic Estimated reading issue.
Can you post your actual consumption - your opening readings and today's please together with the tariff details and hoping you provided regular readings to Greenstar otherwise your bills will be full of estimates.
Have you the actual consumption etc while you were with BG ?Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
I am with Bulb on the Vari-Tariff.
Energy club suggests I can save £104 a year switching to PurePlanet.
However, I have checked my annual consumption figures are correct, and PurePlanet have both a higher Electricity tariff and a higher standing charge.
The Gas standing charge is higher and although the Gas tariff is lower, I still calculate probably paying £20 to £30 a year more !!
So where on earth does Energy Club think I would save £104 ??
